Background information

Containment policy was introduced by an US diplomat George F. Kennan

in 1947 in an article on Foreign Affairs, along with his analysis of Soviet

power.

The idea is that the Soviet Union has its internal instability that will

eventually lead to its own destruction if its attempt to expand its influence

constantly gets contained.
