Material Characterization
Q1.
A dynamic Modulus test is performed on a cylindrical asphalt mix specimen 4" D x 8"H using the
ASTM D 3497 procedures. The accurate height of the sample was found to be 7.775. The
response of the sample is as shown in Figure-1 of the ASTM D3497 (See attached Figure).
Consider the plot of Fig.1 is for load and deformation measurements. The Scale for load is
H21000 lb. and the scale of deformation is that H40.005 in.
Determine the Dynamic Modulus of this sample.
Note: Consider elastic response is stable at 2000 cycles where H3 was measured.
