Tata Group Companies-

Tata Group is an Indian multinational conglomerate holding company headquartered in Mumbai,


Maharashtra, India. It was founded in 1868 by Jamsedji Tata and gained international
recognition after purchasing several global companies. It is India's largest conglomerate.

The two Promoter companies of Tata Group are: Tata Sons and Tata Industries. Tata Sons is
the promoter of all key companies of the Tata Group and holds the bulk of shareholding in these
companies. Tata Sons is the owner of the Tata name and the Tata trademark, which are
registered in India and several other countries. Tata Industries was set up by Tata Sons in 1945
as a managing agency for businesses it promoted. Tata Industries' mandate was recast, in the
early 1980s, to promote the Group's entry into new and high-tech areas.

Each Tata company or enterprise operates independently under the guidance and supervision
of its own board of directors and shareholders. There are 30 publicly listed Tata enterprises with
a combined market capitalisation of about $130 billion as of March 2017. Tata companies with
significant scale include Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Tata Consultancy Services, Tata Power, Tata
Chemicals, Tata Global Beverages, Tata Teleservices, Titan, Tata Communications and Taj
Group.
Now we take one subsidiary of Tata group who motivates their employee through various
policies

Tata Teleservices limited:

Tata Teleservices Limited is an Indian broadband and telecommunication service provider based in

Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.It is one of the biggest service sector company. It is a subsidiary of
the Tata group an Indian conglomerate. It operates under the brand name in various telecom circles
of India.
In February 2008, TTSL announced that it would provide CDMA mobile services targeted towards
the youth, in association with the Virgin group on a franchisee model basis. By April 1, 2015, all
Virgin Mobile CDMA & GSM customers have been migrated into the umbrella Tata Indicom brand
(Tata Indicom for Mumbai NCR).

Currently Tata Teleservices provides mobile services under the following brand names

TATA Indicom(CDMA & GSM mobile operator, wireless broadband

T24 Mobile (GSM mobile opera)

employee-

TATA TELESERVICES company take care of their employees, so that employees

understand that they and their family are valued and help them when they urge for need.

This brings out the best results indirectly. We try and create a sense of belonging to the
organisation through various initiatives which go a long way in the retention of our
employees. Some of the points which motivates their employee most is as follows-

Employee Engagement Programme

They motivate their employee through this programme. Their idea is to be more innovative

and unique than the other companies. They motivate their employees through employee

engagement program.Through this programme they do recognize their employees

performance with awards. They also have fun time football, cricket and hockey,so that

employee never feel bore. They have freed the employees from swiping the punch machine

daily ,so that this allows the employees to focus on productive work.
Special facility for physically challanged people-

They provide special facilities for people who are physically challenged with rack for wheeled
chair entry, parking bays, tactile buttons and voice synthesizers in the lifts.

Family Counselling-

They also initiated children career counseling. They do provide accidental and death
insurance policy. This is how they engage their employees and balance their work and life.

Preferred place to work survey-


They interact with their employees very well, they conduct a survey to know the
employees preference location to work, they screen all the designations, roles and
allot the employees preferred work location.

Working day & Job role -

They believe in creating an optimum work-life balance and follow a five-day week
work culture. TTSL create job roles which are not just exciting and challenging, but
also give employees a sense of purpose in terms of creating value for the
organisation and customers.
