-It is essentially a DVB-T dongle. DVB stands for Digital Video Broadcasting. Its
used to transmit/broadcast compressed AV with small amounts of data
It is mostly used in EU/NA. It uses a RTL 2832U made by Realtek for DVB-T thru USB.
It also allows for receiving FM band using I/Q sample. This is what allows
it to be used as an SDR. The raw I/Q data samples are demodulated with a max
sampling rate of 2.5MSPs
These devices also have a wide tuning range: 24Mhz-1.76GHz.
They can be run on low spec computers like a Raspberry Pi even or android phone
with USB OTG support.

SDR: in an sdr all the complex signal processing is done by the software. Its an
A2D converter with amp and filtering and demod.

This chip is capable of capturing about 2.8MHz of spectrum at a time. (FM-120Khz

and TV 7MHz)
