Family STEAM Night Activities

1. Art Catapult-Using materials provided, design and create a catapult that can launch paint
balls across the river.
2. Gyroscope Demo-Using circular motion to balance. (EVHS active physics demo every 20
minutes)
3. GIRLS IN SCIENCE-Stomp/Soda Straw/Bottle Rockets- Design and create a rocket that moves
through the air by using your breath, a straw, or an exercise ball pump.
4. Hover Craft Demonstration-See how the force in a simple household tool can lift and move
items. (EVHS active physics demonstration every 20 minutes)
5. Football Throw-How far can you get a football to travel using a slingshot?
6. Marble Run-Create the fastest path a marble can take to get from the top of the wall to the
bottom.
7. Disappearing Color Wheel-Try your hand at making a color wheel where the colors disappear
when you spin it and do it all in Spanish.
8. Puppy Programing-Lead the puppy to the ball by programing his path.
9. Static Merry-Go-Round-Create spinning motion using only hand-generated electric charges.
10. Aspen Art Museum-Create your own art with tissue paper printing.
11. John McConnell Math and Science Center- Build a cart to travel down a zipline.
12. Dot and Dash Demonstration-See what our school robots can do. (demonstration every 20
minutes)
13. Simple Machines-Find objects in a museum to create SIMPLE MACHINES that use a minimum
of force.
14. MakerSpace Museum-Walk through and see the talent of Red Hill scientists.
15. Magnetic Worms- Design and build a classroom for magnetic pet worms, and then enjoy
bringing the worms to life.
16. Squishy Circuits-Learn the basics of electrical circuits with Eagle Valley High STEM Students.
17. QR Coding -Follow the secret hidden codes throughout the building.
