Mariners Acquire Infielder Ryon Healy From Oakland
Ryon brings a power bat to our line-up at first base, while providing the flexibility to play 3B as well. He adds to a growing
core of productive young players who impact our present and future, Dipoto said.
Healy, 25, hit .271 (156x576) with 29 doubles, 25 home runs and 78 RBI in 149 games with Oakland in 2017. He appeared
at 1st base (39 games), 3rd base (34 games), designated hitter (78 games) and as a pinch-hitter (3 games). He hit .314
(43x137) versus left-handed pitchers with a .526 slugging mark, collecting 8 of his doubles and 7 of his home runs vs. lefties.
Healy, a 6-foot-4, 232-pound right-handed hitter, made his Major League debut with the As on July 15, 2016, appearing in
72 games and posting a .305 (82x269) average with 20 doubles and 13 home runs while slugging .524. Following the 2016
season, he was named to the Baseball America Major League All-Rookie Team. He combined to bat .326 with 14 home
runs and 64 RBI in 85 games with AA Midland and AAA Nashville and was named the As Organizational Hitter of the Year
and a Baseball America minor league All-Star.
Healy was originally drafted by the As in the 3rd round of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Oregon.
He was a Texas League All-Star in 2015 and hit a combined .293 (463x1579) with 46 home runs and 238 RBI in 392 games
in his minor league career.
Pagan, 26, went 2-3 with a 3.22 ERA (18 ER, 50.1 IP) with 56 strikeouts and 8 walks in 34 relief appearances over 4 stints
(5/2-6, 5/22-24, 6/10-12 and 7/7-end of season) with Seattle in 2017. He made his Major League debut with the Mariners
on May 3 vs. Los Angeles-AL. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound right-hander earned his first Major League win on August 9 at
Oakland, tossing 2.2 scoreless innings. He began the 2017 season with AAA Tacoma, where he went 2-1 with 5 saves and
a 2.56 ERA (9 ER, 31.2 IP). He recorded 36 strikeouts and 8 walks over 23 outings with the Rainiers.
The native of Simpsonville, SC, was selected by Seattle in the 10th round of the 2013 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of
Belmont Abbey College (Belmont, NC). Over parts of 5 minor league seasons in the Mariners organization, Pagan was 13-
16 with 51 saves and a 2.45 ERA (70 ER, 257.1 IP) with 305 strikeouts and 84 walks in 168 career games.
Campos, 17, began his professional career with the DSL Mariners in Dominican Summer League in 2017, batting .290
(60x207) with 37 runs scored, 10 doubles, 2 home runs, 26 RBI, 41 walks and 7 stolen bases in 59 games. He appeared in a
majority of games at shortstop, but also appeared in games at second base, third base and designated hitter. Campos reached
base safely in a league-high 34 consecutive games, July 3-July 27, batting .289 (37x128) with 28 runs scored, 6 doubles, 2
home runs, 20 RBI and 25 walks. He was signed by Seattle as an international non-drafted free agent on July 4, 2016.
