This week in Honors English 9, students will continue revising their literary analysis essay on Persepolis. On Monday, they will workshop body paragraphs and discuss the difference between analysis and reporting. Tuesday through Wednesday are work days to revise and edit the essay. On Thursday and Friday, the class will watch a documentary film about protest and take notes on tactics, effectiveness, and how the notes can be used to rewrite an earlier protest essay. The learning objectives are to discuss and write responses to the film from different perspectives and engage in both informal and formal writing assignments using a writer's journal.
