Accommodations and Modifications

Ice Lab Experiment Sheet: If students are having a hard time drawing a picture in the box, then I
will allow the student to flip the piece of paper over and draw the pictures on the back. They
will label which picture goes with which question. Another accommodation I will make is if the
student is unable to complete the lab sheet by the time the class ends, I will allow them to have
extra time at the end of the day if needed. For a student with a significant disability, I would
modify the assignment to just have them draw a picture explaining the question.

Water Bag States of Matter Experiment Sheet: If a student needs more room to write a one
sentence summary then they may turn the page over and write the rest of their sentence on the
back. For a student with a significant disability, I would modify the assignment to have them
complete the first two columns. They would circle what state it is in and then draw a picture.

Whats Happening to the Jello?: In order to accommodate for a student that is having difficulty
with this assignment I would demonstrate what a picture could look like inside of the box. Also,
I would read the directions aloud to the students for those who have difficulty with
comprehension. For a student with a significant disability, I would modify the assignment to
have them draw a liquid changing to a gas. They would not need to complete the written
summary of describing what happened.

What is Mad Scientist Punch?: In order to accommodate for a student that is having difficulty
with this assignment I would print the worksheet out in color so they are able to identify the
different parts of a solid, liquid, and gas. For a student with a significant disability, I would
modify the assignment by just having them complete the front page.
