Iona Elementary School
I was affiliated with Aden as her mentor when she was a BYU-I Senior Practicum student in my
Kindergarten classroom. During that time, I noticed several qualities that I think are important for a
classroom teacher to possess.
Aden is enthusiastic about teaching, gets along well with others, and maintains a professional manner.
Aden is always willing to face new assignments with a positive attitude. She has a knowledge of child
development combined with the current issues and instructional techniques in education as well as a
background in special education. Aden strives to implement new ideas and continually improve her skills.
Aden is very organized and has a great work ethic. She carefully plans and prepares materials to make
her lessons more effective and enjoyable while addressing necessary objectives. Her creative imagination
allows her to enhance the curriculum and make the classroom environment more interesting to students.
Aden was able to use assessment information to optimize learning and differentiate for individual student
needs.
Aden had a strong rapport with the students. It is evident that she not only cares about the students
learning, but also their self-esteem. She worked well individual students who needed extra help.
Expectations were high and discipline was consistent and positive.
Her personal characteristics of patience, consideration, dependability, good judgment, strong academic
background, and initiative are assets that will serve her well as a teacher.
This individual is a promising teacher who would be an asset to any faculty and community.
Sincerely,
Dianne Walker
