book walk to get an idea of what the
Literacy book is about. They will be asked to
name pictures they are familiar with.

Alphabet vocabulary for the letter Tt book. TLW
be asked to recall what they know about
the vocabulary word. The teacher will
also reiterate what the means of the
words are.

Writing TLW be provided with a sentence strip
with the first, second, third and fourth
letter of their name in yellow marker.
They will be given a pencil and directed
to follow the yellow brick road. TLW
trace their letter with a pencil. TL who
can already write their name will be
given blank strips to practice writing
their names. They may be given the
first letter of their last names to work
on.

TLW answer questions about unfamiliar
words in the text. TLW recall on past
situations that may help them explain
new words. The book is filled with
many words that may be unfamiliar. TL
may also look at the illustrations to
draw conclusions of what the words
mean. TLW also note that the pictures
in this book are photographs, not
illustrations like other books previously
read.

Words TWL begin to have awareness
that each word has syllables. TLW clap
along with the syllables for the
vocabulary pictures. TLW read the T
book associated with Alphachants and
sing the corresponding song.

The question this week will be, What
is your favorite part of a fire truck?
Each student will have the opportunity
to answer. The teacher will write each
response on the board to model how
letters/words are made. The teacher
