Each December our thoughts turn toward
Christmas. However if you are Southern Baptist
you probably think of the Lottie Moon Mission
Offering, too. This offering goes entirely to support
International Missions and is greatly needed.
Our prayer support is also vital to mission work.
December 3-10 is set aside for prayer and promotion
of International missions. We have a prayer guide to
help you pray for individual Missionaries.
The church approved five men to serve as
Administrative Deacons. These men meet monthly
and provide administrative leadership, review
finances, and pray for the overall ministry of our
church. They are my accountability group and I value
them greatly. Here is the entire list along with the year
their ministry concludes.
Serving through December 31, 2018: Jim Hyland, Bob
Nielsen, Jerry Short and Dallas Vick.
Serving through December 31, 2019: Jerry Bolling,
Danny McDonald, Buddy Mesaris, Paul Rambo.
Serving through December 31, 2020: Brian Key, David
Seay, Zac Godwin, David Melton, Jim Meacham.
Our proposed budget for 2018 has been presented.
We have reduced it by 6% from this years budget.
Because giving has remained level for the past three
years, we felt it necessary to reduce our 2018 proposed
budget by about 6%. Our giving for the past three
years has not increased therefore our spending plans
are also being reduced. We intend to do the same
ministry but more economically. We are primarily a
church of middle income families and you have been
so faithful to give. We have been blessed by God. We
are debt free. All major repairs to our facilities have
been made.
I want to encourage you to grow in your giving. I
believe in tithing (10%). You may not be able to give
10% at this point. But you can make that your goal.
Give as generously as you can and decide to increase
that amount each year until you reach a tithe.
Ive written a lot about finances and administrative
matters, in this article. Yet I hope you know our heart
is about ministering to people and saving souls. Thank
you for keeping this your top priority, too.

Serve Day - (Gr. 1-6) - Tuesday, December 19; 7AM - 3PM
Begins at Krispy Kreme and ends at Eastdale Mall. Children,
youth & adults will serve our community in many areas.
STUDENT MINISTRY

Sunday LifeGroups @ 9:20 AM - Join us as we begin
a new unit: UPSTREAM focusing on biblical patterns of
living that develop from living a life for Christ.
TIMEOUT MESSAGE SERIES - Wed, November 29, the
students will begin a Christmas message series examining
Luke 2:1-20. Invite friends and come hear the Christmas
story straight from the pages of Gods Word.
WINTER RETREAT REGISTRATION
January 12-15, 2018, the student ministry will travel to
Pigeon Forge, TN, for the Strength to Stand Conference. For
those yet to register, the cost is $150 for the event.
TACKY SWEATER CHRISTMAS PARTY
Our 2nd Annual Tacky Sweater Christmas Party is scheduled
for Monday, December 18th. This event is open to students,
their parents, and youth workers. More details to come.
PAINT FOR A PURPOSE
Saturday, January 20, the student ministry will host a
fundraiser event in the fellowship hall. More details coming
soon, but save the date for this great night of fun, friends,
and finger foods.
DISCIPLE NOW WEEKEND
The dates for DNow 2018 are February 16-18. Save the
date and spread the word for this life-changing weekend in
February.

Passion Conference
Join 20,000 other college students as we seek a great move
of God in our generation. January 1-3 in Philips Arena in
Atlanta. Cost=$125 for 1st timers; $175 for others.

Will be on Thursday, December. 7 at 7pm at the Keys home
(49 La Terre Ct, Pike Road).

Recycling for Missions
We are collecting empty inkjet cartridges (no laser or toner
cartridges) and used cell phones (no accessories). Place
these items in the ministry baskets around the church. All
proceeds go toward Eastmont Mission Trips.

Forever Young
Calling on all Seniors! Come join us in the Forever Young
Choir. Were learning lots of fun new music and would love
to have a full choir loft every other Sunday when we sing for
the first service.
Student Choir
Student Choir meets every Sunday afternoon at 4 PM in the
choir suite. Students come and be a part of this awesome
opportunity to sing and go on mission trips to share the
good news of Christ with others.

opportunity to supply toys for parents to be able to shop
for their childrens Christmas presents at very low costs.
