Therefore, we have identified this theme for the project. Perhaps this effort contributes to the identification of the eme
priority areas of research in political science.

     I have great pleasure in informing you that the Department of Political Science has decided to bring out all seminar pap
a comprehensive volume. A list of the themes to be discussed has been enclosed. I am happy to invite you to contribute a p
not exceeding 5000 words on a topic of your choice from the themes listed. However, the papers are subject to the clea
from the screening committee. A copy of the paper typed and doubled space on the one side of the plain paper may pleas
sent along with CD. We wish to have the manuscript ready for publication, by the end of September 2010. Therefore, I re

     The world is undergoing a period of profound transformation in every sphere of human life, in science and techno
economy, society, politics, security, culture and diplomacy. One of the most important historical developments in the later p
the 20th Century and beginning of the 21st Century has been the complex phenomenon known as Globalization. In a s
globalization in one or the other way has always been happening in the history of mankind. But the present globalizat
unique because it is occurring under technological revaluation in communication. As a result, the integration of the
economy and culture on a global scale has been very easy.
 
     Political science as an academic discipline has been changing but the central focus has so far been the nation state. G
the contemporary decline of nation state, economically, politically and culturally the focus of political science has to unde
revolutionary change both in content and theory. This seminar therefore, addresses specifically the problems and issues
arise in trying to restructure the content and theoretical foundation of political science in response to the new globaliz
These changes have deep linkage with reconceptualizing the subject of political science. To understand the nature
implications of such changes, it is pertinent and crucial to organize a seminar. We have worked out in detail the themes
sub-themes relating to the problems of restructuring the academic discipline of political science so that political theory
political understanding may come closure to the current political reality. Perhaps this effort contributes to the identification o
