Leonardo da Vinci

Many people know of Leonardo da Vinci as a

famous and talented artist, but this was only a
small piece of who he truly was. da Vinci was
also a passionate scholar, physician, scientist,
and political activist. Many of his ideas and
much of his work has drastically shaped our
understandings on many topics. Even though
da Vinci lived hundreds of years ago, and never
set foot in North America, the influence of his
life and work is still very evident in North
America and across the entire world today.

Your Task:
With a partner, you will research the life and work of Leonardo da Vinci and
discover ways that this man has influenced our current society. After
researching, you will create a comprehensive poster to showcase your findings.
Class #1 (80 minutes):
- You will have ~20 minutes to research each of the four topics:
o Inventions
o Art
o Medicine
o Worldview
- As you are doing your research, work with your partner to create a
rough draft design of your poster.
o Make sure what you intend to include is important, you will
need to justify it when you create the final product.
Class #2 (80 minutes):
1) Using your draft as a guide, create a poster that showcases the research
for each of the four topics.
- Get creative include colour and pictures
2) Write a Rationale
- On the back of the poster, explain why the things you have included
on your poster is important.
