CALENDARS Band members marched in their first parade of the year at the Nisei Week parade on August 14, 2016. Students got a chance to explore the interesting shops around Mondays Little Tokyo (as well as Rehearsal catch some Pokmon). Some even sampled donuts 4 P.M.-7 P.M. topped with bacon! After what seemed like Sept. 5 hours of waiting in the Labor Day Holiday scorching sun, the parade finally commenced. The Aztec band endured despite Sept. 15 the many hardships of the Booster meeting parade, including numerous halts. The band was 6 P.M. extremely thankful that they were in front of the horses during the parade! Although the newest additions to the Aztec Band had been Sept. 17 somewhat apprehensive about their first parade, the band did well considering that Recycle for Music they had only had one week of practice before the parade. 8:00 A.M.

Home Football Game
The pep band played outside the Empress Harbor restaurant in Monterey Park for the Optimist Club on August 25, 2016, at an event honoring Johnny Thompson and 4 P.M.-10 P.M. Mike Eng. Students played several songs, including last years march, Semper Fidelis. People passing by the area also stopped, captivated by the upbeat music the band was performing. Sept. 24
