Abstract: Some background materials about simulation platforms, AMESim and FLUENT are introduced, which includes their
application fields, advantages and disadvantages. The developing trend of numerical simulation and the meaningful effect of
co-simulation to engineering research are analyzed. Main steps of approach method of co-simulation between AMESim and FLUENT
are presented on typical engineering issue, particularly the basic operation mode, interface variable analysis, simulation modeling
approach, user defined secondary developing code, compiling and running co-simulation model. Engineering application of
co-simulation is approved for the research field of liquid launch vehicle technology. The simulation results are validated based on
experimental data and the effectiveness of co-simulation method is approved, which would be a choice for multi-disciplinary
optimization design.
