The Passive Voice: Verb in That Tense Plus The Past Participle of The Original Verb
We use the passive voice when the action is more important than the subject
(the person doing the action).
The tense of the sentence remains the same but it is formed using the be
verb in that tense plus the past participle of the original verb.
The subject of the sentence becomes the object.
Example:
The pilots flew the planes over the river. (past tense)
subject object
The planes were flown by the pilots over the river. (be + past participle.)
Perfect tense
