Lesson: Explain that like yesterday, we will start the day by editing. Before getting started on this, ask students to share what they need to improve for their final drafts. At their tables, have students swap papers with a NEW partner. Provide same parameters (focus on grammar and evidence/analysis) for this editing. o Strategically edit as many essays as possible. o In this editing strategy, ask students to write a note to their partner: One Glow and One Grow (minimum) for additional points on the essay. When students have completed editing, allow them to speak briefly with their partners to explain feedback. Release students to write their FINAL DRAFT of their essay. o Pull lowest-level students to work with me and offer same choice of completing Comment [MS1]: This demonstrates my first form of differentiation. They can 802: fl;dksf:DSLfkds;flsdkf;sdlfks;fldksf;sdlfksd choose to complete a worksheet as their final draft or they can choose to write the paragraph(s) like their peers. This allows students a choice, but provides more support for students to meet the same rigorous objective.
