Test 1
Grammar
1 Find twelve mistakes with the structures for talking about habitual behaviour in the text and correct them.
When I was a child the fair was coming to our village 1
every spring. It was the highlight of the season!
The men were parking their fantastic colourful 2
caravans in the field and then they were building 3
these wonderful machines. I was loving watching 4
them. I was asking them always questions about 5
their lives and they must have got pretty fed up
with me! Then, when the fair would open it was 6
magic! It was full every night and always they had to 7
turn people away. I was really enjoying going on 8
the rides the higher and faster, the better! But
these days I am feeling sick if I so much as look at 9
a big wheel! I would go to a fair with my younger 10
sister and stand and watch her, but thats enough
for me. She is usually trying to make me change 11
my mind, but I wont! At those spring fairs in the
past my mother was never coming on rides with 12
me and I would have to ask my dad instead. Now,
I knowwhy!
