Role Sheet

Each of the following roles are functions and structures of the left and right hemispheres
of the brain. You will take on a role as one of these within your group. Each role can be
determined as you would like. Have fun!

Left Hemisphere Roles: Language Functions

- Brocas Area: Directs the muscle movements involved in speech.

- Wernickes Area: Controls language expression and the ability to understand
what is said
- The left hemisphere: Control of language functions; expression and
comprehension

Right Hemisphere Roles:

- Right hemisphere: Spatial abilities Organization of space, timing

- Creativity, music, artistic skill
- Coordination/ awareness and processing
