This correspondence is in regards to the open positions in the New Graduate Nurse Transition
Program at Banner UMC Tucson. I am graduating with my Bachelors of Science in Nursing
from The University of Arizona College of Nursing on December 14, 2017. I have attached my
resume that lists my education and experience as well as a letter of recommendation from my
critical care clinical instructor.

I am confident that my education from the University of Arizona has prepared me to deliver
caring, personalized, quality healthcare care that your facility is known and respected for. During
my time in the BSN program, I was able to develop strong assessment, critical thinking, team
collaboration, and hands-on nursing skills. I have also learned to effectively utilize the nursing
process in order to provide exceptional nursing care. Furthermore, I recently completed a 180
hour preceptorship in the medical-surgical intensive care unit and Carondelet St. Josephs
Hospital. During my time there, I was able to refine my basic nursing skills such as time
management, delegation, medication administration, and communication. Now that I have
refined these skills, I look forward to continuing to build on them during the Nurse Transition
Program.

I have had the pleasure of having multiple clinical rotations at Banner UMC and I was very
pleased at the work environment and the outstanding patient care that takes place on your units. I
would be honored to have the opportunity to work on any of the units at this hospital, however, I
have the most interest in the medical intensive care unit because of my passion for high acuity
medicine and taking care of the critically ill patient. I believe that passion is necessary in order to
deliver extraordinary nursing care for not only critically ill patients, but for all patients. My other
skills include being reliable, a fast learner, organized, and lastly, a great communicator. All of
these skills, my education, and my passion will make me an excellent asset to your team. Thank
