SCHOOL SUPPLIES
In an effort to be consistent with Biblical principles concerning godly Christian living and to demonstrate to
our students the proper standards of separation from worldliness, we ask our students not to use lunch boxes,
backpacks, notebooks, or other school materials that portray the following:
• any Hollywood movie/video theme or hero
• super heroes
• television programs that depict excessive violence or are morally questionable
• contemporary cartoon characters such as those that dominate Saturday morning children’s television
programs. Traditional characters such as Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck are acceptable.

CALCULATORS
Students planning to take Geometry, Algebra II, or Advanced Math will be required to have a scientific
calculator. These calculators are easily identified as having the trigonometric function buttons (Sin, Cos, Tan)
and cost well below $20. Examples include (but certainly not limited to) the following: Casio FX-115MS Plus,
Casio FX-250 HC, Casio FX-260 Plus, Casio FX-300MS Plus, Texas Instruments TI-30Xa, Texas Instruments
TI-30X IIS, Texas Instruments TI-34II Explorer Plus, and Texas Instruments TI-36 Solar Plus. Students
planning to take AP Calculus (A/B or B/C) will need to have a Texas Instruments TI-83 Plus, TI-83 Plus Silver
Edition, TI-84 Plus, or TI-84 Plus Silver Edition graphing calculator. These calculators retail around $100 -
$130. Many colleges already require the use of these particular calculators. Students will not be allowed to
use handheld computers such as Palm OS or Pocket PC PDAs. Also, the Texas Instruments TI-89, TI-89
Titanium, TI-92, and Voyage 200 will not be allowed. Because these devises cannot be used in standardized
tests such as the SAT and ACT, their classroom use makes little sense. If you have any questions, please
email Mr. Cacayorin at mcacayorin@rrm.org.
SCIENCE FAIR

made available to those students involved as the appropriate time approaches.
