1.

Music and its Potential Role in Second Language Acquisition

The team took an interest in this study because most members of the team have
come to notice that a lot of students use earphones, or at least listen to music
while studying for an exam or doing homework. Even the members themselves
admit to using music as a means of relaxation or drifting away to relieve stress
especially when studying for an upcoming exam. This idea made the team
internalize and reflect whether or not music has an effect on the second language
acquisition of students, thus the research title.

The study is rooted mainly on Georgi Lozanovs Suggestopedia.

2. Internet English: Effects on Second Language Learning.

The research team found an interest in this study mostly because as part of the
21st century, a new and unique kind of language has evolved together with
technology: Internet English. Abbreviation of messages like LOL or BTW made
the team realize that a lot of students, and not just students but almost everyone
alike has had a habit of making conversations shorter to save time. This therefore
gave us the hypothesis that perhaps Internet English has an effect on how
students learn their second language (i.e., the English language)

The study is rooted mainly on Lev Vygotskys Social Interactionist Theory.

3. Effects on English Language Learning through Formal and Informal Education

The research team found a particular interest in this study since the team
members have noticed that there are students who prefer learning a second
language outside of the classroom rather than learn it through a systematic way
inside a classroom setting. This led us to question which gives learners a better
and more effective chance to learn a second language: be it inside a classroom
setting? Or is it the other way around?

The research is rooted mainly on Stephen Krashens Theory on Second Language

Acquisition.
