First Sunday of Advent
Advent reminds us to be watchful and alert for the Lord in our life now and to be ready for His
promised return. Prayer is necessary to do this. Weekly Mass keeps families centered in the
Lord and ready for anything. Carry this attentiveness into family meals and daily prayers.
Practice mindfulness of the Lords presence by thinking of Him through the day whatever you
are doing. Pray Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!

There will be a Holy Hour for Our Lady of Fatima on the First Saturday of
every month; January 6 following the 4:00pm Mass. We all know the
influence our Blessed Lady has on her Son, Jesus Christ. This devotion is
very powerful. Dont miss the opportunity to present your petitions to her
each first Saturday of the month, each year! Its a beautiful hour of Prayer, including
the Rosary.

403 Holy Hours were kept before the Blessed Sacrament this past week. A
Holy Hour by our school seventh graders was very successful (the reason for
this beautiful number. The number of hours is growing at St. Augustine. We
are taking baby steps praying for 400 hours per week at this time. The
graces coming down on each adorerpetitions being granted and the gift of love
spreading everywhere is matched throughout our parish. If youre not part of this
program, youre really missing out! Dont have the time? Nonsense! God give us
lifeevery breath we take. Our ability to walk, talk, reason, our health. One hour a
week will change your life. There are many available hours and a system in place
where someone will cover your hour when you are unable to make it yourself. Call
any captain listed under the glass at the sign-in desk or Gene Ryan at 330-690-9661.
The recent scripture readings encourage us to BE READY because we do not know the
day or the hour when Our Lord Jesus Christ is coming again. Whats in your heavenly
treasure chest, to present to Our Lord when you are called from earth? Can you
imagine, a Holy Hour each week since 1962?

May they rest in peace

John Bogdan & Patricia Ann Thomas

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord!
