BATMAN VS.

SUPERMAN: INNOCENCE

Batman and Superman are two of the famous heroes created by DC. However, in the movie
Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice, the two heroes are slightly different from the comic book.
The movie revolves around the conflict of Batman and Superman, all made possible by Lex Luthor.
However further into the movie, they team up, together with Wonder Woman to stop Luthors
creation. Moreover, there is a question as to who will you side with, which in my case, I am siding
with Batman who thinks different from other people.

Superman, the Man of Steel, is a powerful being who fights for truth and justice and saves
people from the threats of corrupted beings. He has powers that make him invulnerable and that
he can do everything with ease. One reason which makes people see Superman as someone who
will always save them. He values the people and sought to fight injustice, the moral values in
which his adopted parents had taught him. One situation given from the movie is when he defeated
General Zod from diminishing the humans. Nevertheless, it was shown in the movie that he is not
always prioritizing the safety of the people as well as the fact he can do everything. In the event
of General Zod, which occurred in a city, many infrastructures were destroyed and Supermans
only goal then was to defeat General Zod, resulting in many casualties. In the senate room where
superman attended, he didnt see the bomb, losing lives of the innocent again. In addition, there is
also a part in the movie when he said that he just did what he could do. Finally, he has a weakness,
which is Kryptonite. These two situations and statement makes the idea of Superman saves people
and can do everything, questionable. Because if he could do everything by utilizing his powers,
then he couldve to save more people and prevent other situations. And, since he has a weakness,
then he is vulnerable.

With those aforementioned above, I choose to side with Batman instead because he thinks
differently. He does not see Superman as a being who saves. Rather, he sees Superman as a threat
to humans since he might attract more. One example was when he was infuriated when he knew
that there were still people left in the building yet Superman didnt bother to save them. He also
thinks that Superman is not invincible and has flaws, the reason why he made the Kryptonite spear
and gas. Another is that unlike Superman, his abilities and skills are all from his effort and
determination to fight crime. He trains himself and figures out how he will apprehend the
criminals. He narrows down all possibilities and moves in the shadows, doing his mission swiftly.
Though there is the bat-branding, it is only for the sake of the movie. Finally, I sided with
Batman because of his statement I failed him in life, I wont fail him in death. after Supermans
funeral. Hes determined to continue protecting the world and wanted to find the other Meta
Humans. He still believes that humanity has some good left in it and hold onto that.
Thus, I sided with Batman because he is thinking outside the box. He thinks of the bigger
picture rather than whats in front of him. Because, when there is a conflict, eventually people will
turn to each other. But once they passed that through talking and setting aside their differences and
perspectives, and then listen to what the someone has to say, they can overcome those and be
victorious, sometimes finding that they are similar in a way.
