LEGO Hosts 60th Anniversary Celebration for the LEGO Brick


ENFIELD, Conn. The LEGO Group, one amongst the worlds top manufacturers of childrens play toys,
will soon celebrate its 60th anniversary of the LEGO Duplo Brick. To commemorate this milestone, LEGO
will host a yearlong anniversary celebration, starting with the kickoff on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, from 9 a.m.
to 5 p.m. at LEGOLAND in Carlsbad, Calif.

The LEGO anniversary will feature many gifts for all attendees including balloons and party favor
packages of special products for every guest as well as a giant LEGO Brick cake for guests to indulge in.
The LEGO Group is also pleased to announce that President Barack Obama and LEGO Group president
Jrgen Vig Knudstorp will attend the kick-off party.

The LEGO Group anniversary contest, Constructing Bright Beginnings, required all contestants to
submit a sculpture of 100 LEGO Bricks or less. LEGO will randomly award one child from every age
group: 3-6, 7-9 and 10-12, a free two-day, two-night trip to Carlsbad, Calif. for winners and their immediate
family with free passes to LEGOLAND as well as permanent display of the winning creations at the LEGO
Park for all celebration attendees to admire.
The contest winners will be announced at 10 a.m. and immediately following Pres. Barack Obama
and LEGO president Jrgen Vig Knudstorp will deliver speeches. Interview opportunities will be available
for both following their speeches and photo opportunities will be available throughout the day.

LEGO is producing new product colors to be available only during the celebration year. These new
colors will include: tangerine, lime, fuchsia and lemon. All anniversary attendees will receive these new
LEGO products in its party favor packages.
