Jefferson Leonardo Prez Quezada (born July 1, 1974 in Cuenca) is a

retired Ecuadorian race walker.He is commercial engineer.


He specialized in the 20 km event, in which he has won the only two medals his country
has ever achieved in the Olympic Games.
He won the gold medal at the 1996 Olympics
adding gold medals in Atlanta 96, champion of the World Cups of March, in the Czech Republic
1997, Italy 2002 and Germany 2004, maintains the record that he achieved in the World Cup.
France 2003 with time of 1 hour, 17 minutes and 21 seconds, in the 20 kilometers.

In addition, prize gold in the World Cup (Germany 2004) and World Championship (Finland
2005).

The World Athletics Championships in Osaka 2007

In the 2008 Olympics he won the silver medal in the same competition at 34 years of age,
before announcing his retirement from the sport.
