When reflecting on my professional strengths the area that I excel in the most is, motivating
people and making them feel a part of the overall health of the organization. This leadership style
has served me well in the past but I am learning that I will need to expand my leadership
knowledge to become successful a 21st century leader.
The area that I discovered that I am weak in surprised me, the lack of knowledge of the
different types of leadership and the ways of implementing them were amazing and exciting. I
find myself yearning for knowledge and wisdom so I may excel in leadership.
Without a doubt the area of getting my weak areas stronger and maximizing, my strengths
will increase as my wisdom and learning increases. I will look at other leaders in the sport and
business environment seek to spend time with them and emulate the things that gives them long-
term success.
My skill set in motivating people and listening will help my site, but the best way that I can
help my site would be for me to continue to gain knowledge through education in sport and
transfer and instill this knowledge into the staff and leadership of the organization.
Having the opportunity to work at this site and receive mentoring from Mr. Macon will
expand my knowledge in many areas of running the daily operations of a sport organization that
operates as a 501c non-for profit organization. It is my goal to look a workshops and seminars to
gain more knowledge in the world of sport and cultural leadership.
