Promise
To assure on grounds of expectation; to engage for the purpose of marriage.
It is used as a verb with objects, as in requesting or demanding a desired expectation.

Plan
To methodically decide what you are going to do.
To layout, make drawings, diagrams for a new building;
It is used perfect in the tense: make plans for, has arranged methodically, and is preparing for.

Appoint
To set a time and place; to set by one having authority or permission.
Verb in the future tense with will. To designate a time and place when an event will take place.
