CREATIVE READING LITERARY AND ORAL APPRECIATION

Creative Reading- is intelligent reading and it involves the ability to read beyond the printed page.

Literary Appreciation-is another aspect of creative reading.

Literary Approaches:
1. Aesthetic- This stress beauty and / or pleasure.
2. Didactic- The purpose of the author is to instruct or reveal his philosophy in life.
3. Biographical- This deals with the background information on some person.
4. Lexical- This involves a study of the diction used in a selection.
5. Structural- Each paragraph is thought of in terms of sentence units which may have simple or complex
ideas, or of their order which may be natural or inverted.

The appreciation of a literary piece may be either for personal or social reasons.

THE ART OF ORAL INTERPRETATION

Oral interpretation- is the art of communicating to an audience a work of literature in its intellectual, emotional,
and aesthetic entirety (Lee 1952).

been read.
