Reflection #3: PBS Vietnam War Documentary

Clip
At this point, it just seems like repetition, the U.S. Overestimated their capabilities, got cocky,
and ended up getting themselves burned as a result. Its been getting so repetitious that I am beginning
to believe that this documentary is like all the others, stating that the war in Vietnam was unnecessary,
and that South Vietnam was a lost cause. Its the problem with most, if not all of the Vietnam
documentaries, they never tell the full story, not even the Ken Burns one. The main excuse is that they
are appealing to an American audience, but so what? Everything needs to be told, there has to be at
least a lot of representation with the RVN, they are the ones affected the most. However, like the war in
reality and in the media, the U.S. never recognized them, it may be the reason why not many see South
Vietnam as an actual country, or see Vietnamese Americans as just that, and not expatriates of a
country long dead. At this point, Im getting sick of these kinds of documentaries.
