RESOURCE DESCRIPTION
Give a brief description of the technology/resource.

Educreations is a website and iPad app that allows educators to screencast and teach using ones own documents
and files. A slideshow, graph, or picture can be gone over in great detail and with a lot of manipulability. These
lessons can be shared via social media, Google Drive, ones school site, and even YouTube.

How might you use this resource to promote student learning? Describe who will be doing the screencasting you or your
students, and what purpose it will serve.

Educreations could be used to promote student learning in many different ways.


One could use it as a slideshow, use it in a lesson that any absent kids or students who feel they need to revisit a
concept can have access to, show parents how their students are learning, etc. Students could use the program
beyond watching these screencasts as they can take part for their own presentations and explanations. Students
who struggle to show work in math could attempt to use this and describe their computations rather than write
them down.

I would place Educreations on number 3 on the Value-Added Rating Scale because it aligns to content standards;
makes lessons portable, easy to transfer to students and parents, and interactive; and allows students to have
access to their creatively designed lessons and information wherever they have internet access.
