As a Senior Product Manager (PM) intern, you will invent new products and features on behalf of customers. You

business models, defining and analyzing success metrics, and managing strategic projects.

An Amazon MBA summer internship is 11-12 weeks long, consisting of a strategic project that is data intensive,
analytical, centered on a real business issue, and representative of the full-time role. PM interns will have
ownership of a high profile project within a product management business organization, where they will partner
with key business groups and clients. By participating in the internship, you will have opportunities to analyze
unique business ideas, make data driven decisions and provide input to drive meaningful change. Each intern will

Successful PMs ultimately become general managers responsible for running large business segments and operate
in organizations such as Kindle Content, Seller Services, Supply Chain Optimization Technology, Logistics,
International Consumer, Kindle Marketing, Prime Now, Prime and Delivery Experience, and Payment Products.
Examples of former intern projects include:
Global Search Experience: Improve customer search experience for global product categories. Conduct
comprehensive external and internal needs assessment, create a scalable strategy and develop metrics to
enable tracking. Work with a team of engineers to implement changes based on findings during the
internship.
Amazon Payment Products: Evaluate small-and-medium sized business (SMB) usage of gift cards for
promotional and incentive purposes, size the opportunity (in the tens of billions) and develop a product
strategy and business requirements to launch simple to use self-service tools to allow small businesses to
leverage Amazon gift cards for consumer incentives, employee rewards and disbursement purposes.
Supply Chain Optimization Technologies: Implement programs that enable sustainability, including
reduction in waste and energy utilization, and preservation of natural resources.
Amazon Marketplace: Work on new category expansion and growth (e.g., Handmade) through improving
customer experience and seller success. Manage both internal and external partner relationships,
determine pricing structures, and define long-term category strategy.

Basic Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in MBA or equivalent masters level program
3 years of industry or military work experience prior to masters program

Preferred Qualifications:
4+ years of work experience prior to your MBA including academic and/or internship experience
Pre MBA product management experience or other relevant professional experience
Interest in technology, and technology enabled features and services
Strong written and verbal communication and analytical skills, including strong ability to identify and solve
ambiguous problems and work well with cross functional teams
High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously

Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) Capacity Dashboard and Forecasting Tools: Help customers gain
greater visibility into their capacity on EC2 by building a dashboard and forecasting tools. Define customer
requirements, and work with the engineering team to deliver and launch the tools.
Amazon Video: Recommend a customer focused, easy to use, intuitive navigation structure (taxonomy
and merchandising) for a universal catalog of content that maximizes active device hours and LTV while
minimizing the impact to Amazons own subscription (Prime Instant Video) and transactional video
businesses.
Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3): Conduct an analysis of the pricing by looking at the cost structure,
competitive offerings and customer needs. Develop a recommendation and implementable plan for a
price adjustment.
Amazon CloudFront Mobile Strategy: Identify customer needs in the mobile content delivery space,
recommend long-term plan for CloudFront, and develop a short term implementation plan.
Basic Qualifications:

Amazons Retail Business is growing and were looking for tenacious MBA interns who move fast, are capable of
breaking down and solving complex problems, and have a strong desire to own, build, and grow. Incoming MBA
interns are given ownership of large, important areas of opportunity; the autonomy to think strategically and make
decisions; and the ability to drive significant impact to the customer experience and the business. Successful

Participants in the Retail Leadership Development Intern Program (RLD) join Amazon at our corporate
headquarters in Seattle. An Amazon summer internship is 11-12 weeks long, consisting of a strategic project that is
data intensive, analytical, and centered on a real business issue. RLD interns will have ownership of a high profile
project within the Retail organization, where they will partner with key business groups and cross-functional teams
clients. By participating in the internship, you will have opportunities to analyze unique business ideas, make data
driven decisions and provide input to drive meaningful change. Each intern will have exposure to senior level
management and the opportunity to apply general business and retail skills to support successful execution of
strategy.

Successful full-time RLDs ultimately become general managers (category leaders) responsible for running large
business segments and operate in dynamic retail organizations such as Amazon Fresh, Hardlines Shopping
Experience, Toys, Sports, Private Label Fashion, Entertainment and Media, Amazon Business and our flagship
Books category. Examples of intern projects include:

Launchpad: Drive retention and advocacy with Amazon Launchpad startups by developing a scalable startup
facing communications strategy (including prioritization), and executing this strategy by creating the initial
content. Effectiveness of the information and content produced will be measured using a survey that will
collect a Hows my Driving score (how useful startups found the content) and a Net Promoter Score (how likely
they are to recommend us to other startups).
US Books: Develop a recommendation for foreign language book growth and selection. Determine the overall
financial opportunity, inventory sourcing plan, customer experience, and merchandizing strategy by working
with key stakeholders.
Lawn & Garden: Evaluate the business case for consolidating holiday-specific (i.e. Christmas, July 4th, etc.)
products into one category. Analyze sales curves and develop a playbook for inventory management and
merchandising for these micro seasons.

Interning in Amazons Retail business is a great way to experience our culture, learn our peculiar business
practices, and gain exposure to our full-time RLD program. The RLD full-time program is a 36-month program
designed to accelerate your growth into a General Manager within Amazon Retail, leading a billion dollar+ business
in 7 years or sooner.

Basic Qualifications:

1. Currently enrolled in a 2-year full-time MBA program or a 3-year dual-degree full-time MBA program at

Amazons Corporate Development (CD) team is a small, integrated team leading our most complex and high-

contributions help to manage relationships and negotiations for partnership deals which are unconventional in
nature, need a centralized advocate, and/or have broader implications to multiple Amazon business units. With
this focus, work is common with major technology companies, such as Facebook and Google, as well as with high-
growth start-ups to identify new partnership opportunities. Internal partnerships with management teams are
critical to understanding relative advantages or risks, if/when major features are in existing roadmaps, and current
trends around innovation, consolidation and customer adoption.

An Amazon MBA summer internship is 11-12 weeks long, consisting of a strategic project that is data intensive,
analytical, centered on a real business issue, and representative of the full-time role. The SBD intern will have
ownership of a high profile project, where they will partner with key business groups and clients. By participating
in the internship, you will have opportunities to analyze unique business ideas, make data driven decisions and
provide input to drive meaningful change. Each intern will have exposure to upper level management (including
Vice Presidents and Directors) and the opportunity to apply general business and financial analysis skills to support
successful execution of corporate strategies. This opportunity is Seattle-based.

Accounting, and senior management
Develop best practices to foster, manage, and track growth opportunities
Collaborate with internal business teams on initiatives involving strategic thinking balanced with
quantitative analysis
Analyze and quickly understand emerging segments within the technology market and the impact to
Amazon

Basic Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in an MBA program


3+ years of experience in a relevant role, including business development, investment banking, corporate
development or dynamic roles within technology or media companies

Preferred Qualifications:

Thought leader with an understanding of the key business drivers and customer dynamics in the digital
media, commerce, advertising, mobile, and high-tech industries
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively while applying sound business judgment
Strong analytical skills and an ability to navigate complex quantitative analyses
Ability to succeed in ambiguous, unstructured situations
Excellent oral and written skills to communicate complex issues and influence others internally and
externally
