Legal application
Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) applies to any item of lifting equipment but duty
holder must consider in relation to its requirements, the extent of the risk and the measures needed to eliminate or control
the risk.
Under these regulations all Lifting operations must be planned and carried out in controlled manner so far as is reasonably
practicable to prevent risk of injury to persons or damage to property or environment.

NATURE OF PROJECT

Description of Works
The operation comprises of unloading & lifting TFF building steel items, by one mobile crane 50 ton capacity for 2 Anchor
point.
1. Planning
There will be use mobile cranes for lifting operations on site that would require to be notified to HSE.
1.2 Appointments.
The specialist contractors requiring the use of mobile cranes will require providing details of competent plant
operators and Appointed person and slingers/ signalers for lifting operations.
Details of slings and other lifting accessories types and safe working loads SWL are to be provided by the lifting
contractor.
Triple P personnel will use MEWP,S for beams dismantling as per method statement
The crane will setup for lifting beams at the nearest point as per layout
Triple P will use lifting slings as shown for different kinds of beams, bracing, windows,
and doors.
use 2 red slings 5 tons per one with choke hitch tie for horizontal 13 m and 6 m vertical
column
Using rubber for preventing sliding and sling damage.
Store the beams as per method statement

1.7 Restrictions.
The lifting contractors shall provide test and thorough examination certification of all lifting equipment and accessories
to be used on site.

2. Lifting operations
The lifting contractor shall undertake and instigate an established safe system of work including any exclusion zones
required etc to carry out lifting operations safely.
Weight and size details of the loads to be obtained and included within lifting plan prior to lifting operations to ensure
lifting equipment suitability to carry out lifting operations safely.
2.3 Competence.
Mobile crane to be operated by trained persons, certified, competent and authorized operators only.
Lifting operations to be supervised by either lifting supervisor or appointed person responsible for lifting operations.
Slinging signalling to be undertaken by trained and certified slingers/ signallers..
The lifting contractor shall fully consider the environmental on (6th of October) and ground conditions, or other such
matters that may affect the operation.
Lifting operations to cease immediately if weather conditions indicate that lifting operations cannot be completed safely.
Based on 6th of October airport weather station reports (30 km near the site)
Correct method of slinging to be used by trained and CPCS certified slingers/ signallers.
Suitable, in good conditions, tested and certified lifting accessories to be used as identified within lifting plan.
Any damaged accessories to be taken out of use immediately and replaced.
2.6 Communication.
The lifting contractor shall provide full details of communication system to be used between crane operator, slingers/
signallers, crane co-ordinator etc.
By the international riggers hand signs (clear area )
The lifting contractor shall provide full details of the safe working loads of the cranes and lifting accessories.

The lifting contractor shall provide full details of how loads will be controlled. Use of guide ropes etc.
By two guidelines
2.9 Inspections.
Lifting plant and accessories to be inspected prior to use by the operators and slingers/ signallers and recorded within
inspection register.

3. Emergency preparedness.
The lifting contractor shall provide full details of inspections of emergency rescue of how crane operator would be
rescued in case of emergency, cranes stopped, specialist rescue, emergency services etc.
Details of contractor emergency contact names and numbers, position, responsibilities etc
In the even of an accident contact the Triple P Site Manager Mohamad Dosoky on
01200017167 or Triple P HSE Manager Alaa El- Desouky on 01272200363 who will
arrange first aid treatment or transport to nearest hospital.
In the event of fire contact the Triple P Site Manager Mohamad Dosoky on
01200017167 or Triple P HSE Manager Alaa El- Desouky on 01272200363 who will
arrange fire department or external help.
Proceed to the designated ASSEMBLY POINT at the top of the road as marked
bellow and remain there until further notice.
