    1. What did people use to use to measure things before there was a standard of measurement?
    People would use their feet as a way to measure things.

    2. What system of measurement is used around the world today and what number is this
    system based on?
    The system of measurement used around the world today is the metric system, and its
    based around the number 10.

    3. Why is it important for scientists to have a common system of measurement around the
    world?
    Its important scientists have a common measurement system so things fit together. If
    you have a battery from china, you want it to work in a flashlight from the U.S. Its also so
    scientist can share information without worrying about converting it so others
    understand.

    4. Identify and list [3] reasons why we measure. For example to make things fit.
    We measure to understand the world around us, create structures, and to make sure
    things wont break when we use them.

    5. Identify and list [5] standards of measurement. For example length


    Mass, time, temperature, volume and area.

    6. What might happen if we didnt measure things?


    Nothing would work. Everything we built would just collapse.
