Label & Artist agreement

This agreement was made on the 5th of December 2017 between Silent
Sound Records and the local band Dukes.

Scope of agreement
The Indie Record label have recently heard Dukes newly released E.P
we are not alone on Spotify and have offered them a recording contract.

Term
-This will be a 3 year contract from the date of signing this agreement

-Extending the contract can be negotiated 4 weeks prior to the current

one ending

Creative Control
-The Artist will have full responsibility in the artwork during the
contract term

Rights
-The artist gives all rights relating to recording and merch to Record
Label

-The artist gives the Record Label rights to use their name for sale and
marketing purposes

Requirements
-The Artist has to deliver a 12 track album within the timescale

Exclusivity
-The band cannot sign or record with another label during the period of
the 2 year contract

Territory
-This contract will focus their work in the location of Dundee,

Key man clause

-If the main person who signed the band leaves, Dukes is allowed to
leave the label and sign another

Termination
- Dukes has the right to terminate the contract if the label do not stick to
their word and release the album on time

Advances
-The Record Label will not be paying out advances to the Artist but will
pay for recording and promoting costs

Royalties
- The artist will receive 70% of net profits that the label receives from
record sales, merch

-The Artist will receive recording and song writing royalties

Accounting
- The label will pay the band 6monthly, changing dates can be
negotiated
