The project will be introduced in the classroom with me explaining the differences in states of matter. I will then explain to them how to fill in the Kidspiration outline that I created for them to fill out. It should not take very long (half hour at most). I will explain to them that they will have to find pictures of specific items that they feel will appropriately fit under each category (solids, liquids, and gases). Students learning will be assessed at the end by the teacher seeing each students individual completed Kidspiration and checking if they put appropriate pictures into the correct categories. This lesson could be extended into higher level learning by maybe letting the students create their own Kidspiration template from the start and making it a student - centered assignment. Concluding this lesson will include a few of the classmates volunteering one-by-one to show their completed assignment to the class. This will let them give others examples of each state of matter and can help other students have some clarity if they may be struggling with the assignment. I will provide feedback to the students by going over each of their assignments and letting them know which ones are correct and which ones are not correct and why.
