A note from Ms. Hollinger...
V.I.P 2 Thank you to those who took the time to attend the 3-way conferences

together. As discussed in the meeting you will start to notice that there is

more homework in grade one with a heavy focus on reading. December
Pre-K Calendar 4
is a very busy month for everyone, but it is important that your child takes
20 minutes to read each and every night on Raz-Kids. Remember to
have your child colour in 1 item on their reading chart and please ensure
it is signed. Reading a story to your child does not count towards their
Curriculum focus: chart. They must read on Raz-Kids so the books are appropriate to their
level.

relationships
E.A.L: Sentences Your child will be receiving their first book report this month. It will be
due Monday December 18th. Please send it in your childs Look Book
Social: Family on this day. A reminder that this should not be completed in one sitting,
but rather throughout the month when your child discovers a book they
enjoy. December is a short month so they may feel rushed with this first
report. I suggest you start a page this week to pace your child. One
page during the week and one page on the weekend is my suggestion
to you.

Skating in grade one

We will be going skating for the first time in our classroom this month
with a total of 3 times throughout the winter season. For some of us,
it will be our first time on skates. If there are any parents who are
able to help out it would be appreciated.
