Westbury Public School District. I hold 19 years of experience in the field of education, 10 of which have
been dedicated to the position of Reading Specialist for grades 1-5.

As you will note in my enclosed resume, I hold a Masters Degree in Literacy K-6 from Long
Island University. I have taught reading in grades 1-5 since 2006. Prior to that time I was a second grade
teacher in a general education class as well as an inclusion class.

My academic preparation, motivation and organizational skills aid in my ability to be a successful

leader. I possess strong leadership skills that aid in my interaction with parents, faculty and other
stakeholders. Throughout my years of experience I have learned the benefits of communication and
organization. I have been praised for my efforts of communication and organizational skills and the
resulting impact these efforts have in keeping staff informed on curriculum, best practices and routines,
data analysis and implementation of programs. My ultimate goal is to bring my collaborative, motivated
spirit to the Westbury School District. My educational background, experience and personal
characteristics make me the right candidate for your Administrator position.
