Group Assignment

Property managers need to adopt more preventive measures in managing properties rather than
to act only when a problem arises - Malaysian Institute of Professional Property Managers (MIPPM)
forum entitled "Towards 1st Class Property Management.

PLEASE CHOOSE ONE SET OF THE FOLLOWING TOPICS BELOW:

Water supply system


Energy supply; gas, electricity and other alternative/ renewable resources

Heating and air-conditioning systems


Ventilation system

Piping system for services


Drainage, sewerage treatment and refuse disposal (sanitary, waste) systems

Mechanical conveyor system


Communication system

Fire detection & protection system


Security (alarm) system

You will work in your group (6-7 max) to research and interview any relevant property management/
maintenance personnel. The report should consider the following phases;
1. Introduction
2. Challenges and problems from a case study (What is happening? What are the key
problems, & challenges that you can identify during the interview?)
3. Solutions & suggestions (discuss potential solutions and/or suggestions that would improve
the issue of your specific topic.)
4. Summarise the process

Your discussion should be NOT more than 15 PAGES.


(a) Comprehensiveness of finding presented (15 marks)
(b) Clarity and cohesiveness of reporting (10 marks)
(c) Creativity (5 marks)
