Read the questions below and write your answers

What was the most common reason for speaking?

- Repeats word and phrase after teacher.

What was the least common reason for speaking?

- Learner repeats word and letter after teacher individual

Were there any boxes with no ticks?

- Learner answers peer informally

How much of the lesson was spent on the teacher using Teacher Talk, in your
opinion?

- Only 20 minutes, sign a song about letter N displaying the flash cards asking the
students about words start with letter N

Do you feel it was an appropriate amount of talk? Why / Why not?

- No, because the students didnt communicate with each other during the lesson and
they only hearing the words from the teacher and they are not using them.

What do you think is an appropriate sequence of interaction patterns?

- Asking the students more question and give them more speaking and listening
activity to improve their language.

Now consider how much Arabic was used. Do you think it was used appropriately?
Why? / Why not?

- Yes, because they dont have enough vocabulary words to use while they talking
with their friends or teacher.

For example, not just for giving an example, but also for correcting, for praising, for
everyday uses, like asking for help, or asking to borrow something?

C. What role do you think Arabic should play in the English classroom?

- The teacher can help the student in English lesson with using Arabic
language if the student doesnt understand something such as
vocabulary words in English, the teacher can explain it to them in Arabic
that will help them to understand quickly and they will learn new
vocabulary words in English when they know the meaning.
