UNIT TOPIC: Corporate Branding

LESSON TITLE: Brand You! Branding and Logo Development

UNIT OBJECTIVES: 1. Critical and creative thinking: brainstorming, analyzing


historical and contemporary sources, and questioning
group and individual assumptions.
2. Social skills: collaborating with peers.
3. Communication: participating in group discussions,
debates, class projects, and role-play; demonstrating
comprehension by commenting (orally and in writing) on
the material clearly and effectively.
4. Research: collecting, organizing, and synthesizing data
from various sources (scholastic articles, commercial
news sources, Internet, video/film, music, art, and
literature).

LESSON OBJECTIVE: 1. Students will define and use proper terminology to identify
the process of developing company and individual brands.
2. Students will analyze and identify their individual traits and
characteristics to create and design a personal brand logo.

After completing the Personal Brand Research Activity form,
students will be partnered and directed to discuss their personal
research results and together, narrow their individual list to six
words that best describes them.
Students, in pairs, will brainstorm to help each other develop an
identifiable image which represents or embodies the ideal and
concept of the six words they have chosen.

INDEPENDENT PRACTICE On a separate sheet of paper, each student will sketch or


storyboard a visual concept or representation of an identifiable
object, including a color scheme, and using the elements and
principles of design, to create an initial logo idea.
Step 6: Upon completion of the partner task/activity, students will
report or present their visual concept and representation of their
initial logo to the class.
