Dear Hiring Manager,

Please consider my resume in your search for a Human Resource Intern. While on my pursuit for
employment your post on the University of Houston Cougar Pathways caught my attention. After visiting
your website, I believe you have found the hospitable, responsible and personable HR intern your team
has been seeking.
For the past year and a half, I have been developing and improving my skill set at the M.D. Anderson
Library as a Service Desk Assistant. Located at UH, a university known for their diverse students, I have
experience working with people of many diverse backgrounds. The library is a popular spot among
students and working at the service desk has helped develop my customer service skills. Leaving the
patron with a pleasurable experience is highly emphasized in my current position. I believe it will be a
great asset as I expect to have a wide range of employees I will be in contact with.

I have been promoted to a student leader at the service desk. With this, I am asked to hold a greater
responsibility with situations at the desk. The promotion has pushed and improved my emotional
intelligence and cognitive ability, especially while dealing with difficult situations. Although I have been
asked back for the summer, I would like to take the time to intern under your companys HR
department.

Thank you for taking the time to read through my cover letter. I hope you find I am qualified to join your
team. I have also included a copy of my resume. Feel free to contact me at [My information] if you have
any questions.

Sincerely,

Lucero Perez
