All praise is due to the one and only true God, the Lord of the Universe, the
Creator and cherisher of all that exists; and may His peace and blessings be upon
the last and final messenger, Prophet Muhammad, and all the other prophets and
messengers before him.

It’s my pleasure and duty herein to discuss the real concept of God in the
most popular and commonly available Hindu scripture i.e., Bhagavad-Gita and the
Islamic call. Hindus revere this scripture and it is referred to as ‘a summary of the
spiritual teachings of the Vedas’. The Geeta Dhyanam or The greatness of Geeta,
is a traditional poem found as a prefatory to most of the editions of Bhagavad
Geeta, whose 4th verse refers to all the Upanishads as the cows and the Geeta as
the milk drawn from them; thus, making it the most commonly available Hindu
scripture for the Hindu laymen.

All the discussion in this book is based on my understanding and research;

and none of the short comings apply to others besides me. This book is written
with the sole intention of calling my fellow Indians (Hindus), who regard
Bhagavad-Geeta with respect and consider its words to be truth, towards
abolishing centuries long feud between them and their rival Muslims by bringing
them to common terms.

To begin, we need to be well aware about the real conflict between the two
communities. This conflict lasting for centuries is basically because of the
difference in their understanding about God. The faiths in God being the disputing
grounds, all other disputes are in some way or the other linked deeply to them. The
only way for the feud to completely vaporize or minimize to the largest extent
between the rivals, is by making the rivals adopt the same concept of God as their
understanding. The Almighty God says in the glorious Quran

“...come to common terms as between us and you:

That we worship none but Allah. That we
associate no partners with him; that we erect not,
from among ourselves, Lords and patrons other
than Allah." If then they turn back, say ye: "Bear
witness that we (at least) are Muslims (bowing to
Allah’s Will).” (Al Quran 03:64)

But verily, this cannot be done by stuffing a man made concept through
their throats for the people to digest. Then raises the question, in what way am I
making an attempt to unite these two communities? For simplifying this, let us
analyze the way in which a just judge analyzes the dispute. Suppose a disputing
party faces a judge’s trial, what is it that the judge asks them? Indeed he listens to
the complainant and the accused to get the knowledge about the issue. Then the

4
most important thing that he asks them to put forward is “the Evidence to prove
their case”. This is what gives an individual’s claim a strong platform for
argument. And once the respective evidences are put forward, they need to be
analyzed. Hence, even in this case “Evidence or Proof” is what helps in bringing
to common terms. Amazing!! How is it possible? Let’s go ahead…

For instance, there is a varied belief about God within the Hindu
community. A few Hindus, who have knowledge about their Holy Scriptures,
believe in One God. While others believe in three gods, many have faith in 330
million gods. Thus, the Hindus have innumerable gods to whom they worship and
seek help. Some worship with an intention of worshipping through these miniature
gods to the One God while others say that they are indeed worshipping the Only
True God but have an idol in front of them to develop concentration while they
worship the only One God.

But the Muslim stand is that, there is only one true God worthy of worship
and none others besides Him should be called for help. One should not make an
image or idol or sculpture or any likeness of God. One should seek help directly
from God without any intercessors in between. One should worship the Almighty
God without any structure for concentration. Thus these are two conflicting claim
and hence there has been conflict between these communities. To support their
claims the claim needs to be suffixed with evidence. “Say, please produce your
evidence”…

“Or have they taken for worship (other) gods

besides him? Say, "Bring your convincing proof:
this is the Message of those with me and the
Message of those before me." But most of them
know not the Truth, and so turn away.” (Al Quran
021:24)

And the Hindus have produced the scriptures such as the Vedas,
Upanishads, Puranas, Itihasaas, and the Bhagavad Geeta. The importance of
Bhagavad Geeta has already been discussed. But Majority, almost all, of Hindus
cannot afford to have all the scriptures at home whereas they can indeed afford to
possess the Bhagavad Geeta at home and is the most read scripture among all the
above and these scriptures are considered as the authoritative support for their
beliefs.

And the Muslims have the Quran, whose message is for the whole of
mankind as it says,

5
O mankind! Verily there hath come to you a
convincing proof from your Lord: For We have
sent unto you a light (that is) manifest. (Al Quran
004:174)

Ramadhan is the (month) in which was sent down

the Qur'an, as a guide to mankind, also clear
(Signs) for guidance and judgment (Between right
and wrong)… (Al Quran 002:185)

It’s my humble request to all the readers, to read and analyze the belief with
the evidences put forward. I pray that the readers accept the truth for their own
benefit, for the benefit of their families and for the benefit of the whole of
mankind, Aameen.

Number of God(s)

Common Hindu Belief:

Hindus have a variety of beliefs about the number of God(s). This belief can be
basically be divided into two based upon the knowledge they possess about their
religion in the light of their scriptures. They are the belief of the learned and that
of the layman. The learned Hindus, who have sound knowledge of their original
scriptures, such as the Vedas, Upanishads and the Bhagavad-Gita; claim that there
is only one God, but those who cannot afford to gain the true knowledge inherit
the family traditions and beliefs. Thus the layman is ready to believe in 3 to
33crore or 330million and most Hindus believe in the philosophy of ‘Pantheism’
which means ‘everything is God’, such as the monkey, tree, table, stone, cow, bull,
buffalo, cat, dog and whatsoever exists.

Let the Geeta speak:

But, what does the Bhagavad-Gita, the most popular and easily available
scripture of the Hindus, a treasure in majority of the Hindu homes, have to speak
about the number God(s).

Whatever other entities there are, born of sattava (the

Quality of goodness), and those that are born of Rajas (the
principle activity) and the Tamas (the principle of inertia),
know them all as evolved from Me alone. In reality,
however, neither do I exist in them, nor they in Me.
(Bhagavad-Gita 7:12)

6
Verily, this divine illusion of Mine, constituted of the
Gunas, is difficult to cross over; those who devote
themselves to Me alone, cross over this illusion.
(Bhagavad-Gita 7:14)

All these devotees are undoubtedly magnanimous souls, but

he who is situated in knowledge of Me I consider to be just
like My own self. For, such a devotee, with the mind
steadfast, is established in Me alone, as the supreme goal.
(Bhagavad-Gita 7:18)

The fruit gained by these people of small understanding,

however is perishable. The worshippers of gods attain the
gods; whereas My devotees, howsoever they worship Me,
eventually come to Me and Me alone. (Bhagavad-Gita
7:23)

And he, who at the time of death, meditating on Me alone,

goes forth, leaving the body, attains My Being: there is no
doubt about this. (Bhagavad-Gita 8:5)

The devotee, however, who loving no one else constantly

think of Me, and worship Me in a disinterested spirit, to
those ever united in thought with Me, I bring full security
and personally attend to their needs. (Bhagavad-Gita 9:22)

Arjuna, even those devotees who, endowed with faith,

worship other gods (with some interested motive) worship
Me alone, though with a mistaken approach.
For I am the enjoyer and also the Lord of all sacrifices; but
they know Me not in reality (as the Only Supreme Deity),
hence they fall. (Bhagavad-Gita 9:23-24)

Those who are vowed to gods go to the gods; those who are
vowed to the manes (The spirits of the dead, regarded as
minor supernatural powers in ancient Roman religion)
reach the manes; those who adore the spirits reach the
spirits and those who worship Me alone come to Me alone.
(Bhagavad-Gita 9:25)

7
Arjuna, I am the universal Self seated in the heart of all
beings; so I alone am the beginning and middle and also the
end of all being. (Bhagavad-Gita 10:20)

Fix your mind on Me alone, and establish your intellect

in Me alone, thereafter you will abide solely in Me. There
is no doubt about it. (Bhagavad-Gita 12:8)

Though integral like space in its undivided aspect, it appears

divided as it were in all animate and inanimate beings. And
that Godhead, which is the only object worth knowing, is
the sustainer of being (as Vishnu) the destroyer (as Rudra)
and the creator of all (as Brahma). (Bhagavad-Gita 13:16)

The moment man perceives the diversified existence of all

beings as rooted in the One Supreme and their expansion
from That (One) alone, he then attains Brahma.
(Bhagavad-Gita 13:30)

It is I who remain seated in the hearts of all creatures as the

inner controller of all; and it is I who am the source of
memory, knowledge and the ratiocinative faculty. Again, I
am the only object worth knowing through the Vedas; I
alone and the father of Vedanta (source of Knowledge) and
the Knower of the Vedas (Knowledge) too. (Bhagavad-Gita
15:15)

Amazing!! But in truth, this is what the most popular scripture found in
every religious Hindu family says about the number of God(s) they have to
believe. But because of their misunderstanding of that which they read, the Hindu
population is famous in the world for believing in countless number of gods. In
fact it speaks of purely one God, a lone God without a second. There is no
question of a third.

The Islamic call:

Islam says that God is only one and there is no room for another God.
There are no miniature gods or gods for each and every thing such as, for the sun,
for rain, for winds, for creating human beings or any such. God Himself puts
forward the reason for the absence of such gods, in His final revelation to mankind
and says that if there would have been many gods, there would have been
“Fasaad” (confusion / conflict / fighting / misunderstanding) between them, and
each one of them would have taken away their respective creations, such as the

8
rain god would take away rain – then there would be no rain for mankind, the sun
god would have taken away the sun and as such there would have been no life and
so on. The Almighty God says the following in His final revelation for the whole
of mankind.

Say: He is the God, One and only. (Al Quran 112:001)

And your God is One God: There is no god but He, Most
Gracious, Most Merciful. (Al Quran 002:163)

God! There is no god but He,-the Living, the Self-

Subsisting, Eternal. (Al Quran 003:002)

He it is Who shapes you in the wombs as He pleases. There

is no god but He, the Exalted in Might, the Wise. (Al Quran
003:006)

There is no god but He: That is the witness of God, His

angels, and those endued with knowledge, standing firm on
justice. There is no god but He, the Exalted in Power, the
Wise. (Al Quran 003:018)

This is the true account: There is no god except The God;

and God-He is indeed the Exalted in Power, the Wise. (Al
Quran 003:062)

If there were, in the heavens and the earth, other gods

besides God, there would have been confusion in both! But
glory to God, the Lord of the Throne: (High is He) above
what they attribute to Him! (Al Quran 021:022)

God and His attributes

Common Hindu belief:

Attributes of God means, those names attributed to God which completely

describes the nature and qualities of God. Hindus have various names for God
such as the Agni, Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva etc. But they consider them to be
different gods and not the same God as they give them different physical
appearances. For instance, the depiction of Brahma and Vishnu is as follows. (A
description of the depictions of Brahma and Vishnu are detailed below, only to
show how differently the attributes are depicted from each other for the knowledge

9
of one who has none – mainly with the intention of making one aware about it,
one may skip it if they are not interested in the details.)

Brahma is traditionally depicted with four heads, four faces, and four arms.
With each head, He continually recites one of the four Vedas. He is often depicted
with a white beard (especially in North India), indicating the nearly eternal nature
of his existence. Unlike most other Hindu “God depictions”, Brahma holds no
weapons. One of His hands is shown holding a scepter in the form of a spoon,
which is associated with the pouring of holy ghee or oil onto a sacrificial pyre,
signifying Brahma as the lord of sacrifices. Another of His hands is shown holding
a jar or coconut shell containing water. The water in this jar is believed to signify
the initial, all-encompassing ether in which the first element of creation evolved.
Brahma is also depicted holding a string of prayer beads, which He is “supposed”
to be using to keep track of the Universe's time. He is also shown holding the
Vedas and, sometimes, a lotus flower. (Extracted from online encyclopedia –
Wikipedia)

Vishnu is mostly depicted holding the four attributes supposed to be associated

with him, being:

1. A conch shell or Shankha, named "Panchajanya", held by the upper left

hand, which represents Vishnu's power to create and maintain the universe.
The Panchajanya represents the five elements or Panchabhoota - water,
fire, air, earth and sky or space. It also represents the five airs or Pranas that
are within the body and mind. The conch symbolizes that Vishnu is the
primeval Divine sound of creation and universal maintenance.
2. The chakra, a sharp-spinning discus-like weapon, named "Sudarshana",
depicted to be held with the upper right hand, which is supposed to be a
symbolization of the purified spiritualized mind. The name Sudarshana is
derived from two words - Su, which means good, superior, and Darshan,
which means vision or Sight; together, it is "Superior Vision". The chakra
represents destruction of one's ego in the awakening and realization of the
souls original nature and God, burning away of spiritual ignorance and
illusion, and developing the higher spiritual vision and insight to realize
god.
3. A mace or Gada, named "Kaumodaki", depicted to be held with the lower
left hand and is supposed to symbolize Vishnu's divine power is considered
to be the source of all spiritual, mental and physical strength. It is also
supposed to signify Vishnu's power to destroy materialistic or demoniac
tendencies called anarthas; within the person's consciousness that hinders
them from reaching god. Vishnu's mace is to depict the power given by the
Divine within us to spiritually purify and uplift us from our materialistic
bonds.

10
4. A lotus flower or Padma, depicted to be held in the lower right hand, is
supposed to represent spiritual liberation, Divine perfection, purity and the
unfolding of Spiritual consciousness within the individual. The lotus
opening its petals in the light of the Sun is indicative of the expansion and
awakening of our long dormant, original spiritual consciousness in the light
of God. The lotus in Vishnu's hand is supposed to symbolize that God is the
power and source from which the universe and the individual soul emerges.
It represents Divine Truth or Satya, the originator of the rules of conduct or
Dharma, and Divine Vedic knowledge or jnana.

To this may be added, conventionally, the vanamaala flower garland and

Vishnu's bow, the Shaarnga, and his sword Nandaka. (Extracted from online
encyclopedia – Wikipedia)

Let the Geeta speak:

However, the above description is all man made and imaginary. On the
contrary, the respected and most popular scripture of the Hindus, Bhagavad-Gita,
states that it is only One God who has various qualities and is ‘undivided’. That
Godhead itself is the sustainer of beings (Lord or Vishnu), the destroyer (Rudra)
and the creator of all (Brahma). Thus individually picturizing the attributes of God
is ignorance.

Though integral like space in its undivided aspect, it

appears divided as it were in all animate and inanimate
beings. And that Godhead, which is the only object worth
knowing, is the sustainer of being (as Vishnu) the destroyer
(as Rudra) and the creator of all (as Brahma). (Bhagavad-
Gita 13:16)

Moreover, the Bhagavad-Gita states that the God has a form, and that form
is far beyond the human conception. Thus human beings cannot imagine the form
of God with their own understanding and it is err on the human part to even make
an image with their own hands depicting the attributes, as understood with our
restricted senses, and attributing it to the Almighty God. This is indeed ignorance
in the light of Bhagvad – geeta. For, Bhagavad-Gita says the following to a person
who strives to be amongst those who are nearest to God and the righteous.

He who contemplates on the all-wise, ageless Being, the

Ruler of all, subtler that the subtle, the universal sustainer,
possessing a Form beyond human conception, refulgent
like the sun and far beyond the darkness of ignorance.

11
Having by the power of Yogamaya (divine potency) firmly
held the life-breath in the space between the two eyebrows
at the time of death, and then contemplating on God with a
steadfast mind, full of devotion, he reaches verily that
supreme divine God. (Bhagavad-Gita 8:9-10)

Thus, it is an abomination even in the Hindu scriptures.

The Islamic Call:

Islam calls commands the mankind not to say that there are many gods,
such as rain god, sun god, mercy god, creator god, tree god, fire god, etc., but says
that one should affirm that the rain belongs to God, the sun belongs to God, God is
the most merciful, God is the creator, the tree belongs to God, the fire belongs to
God etc., and the qualities that are attributed to God belong to Him alone and one
should not represent each quality of God with a different representation which is
nothing but committing profanity in the respect and status of God.

God! There is no god but He! To Him belong the most

Beautiful Names. (Al Quran 020:008)

He is Allah, the Creator, the Evolver, the Bestower of

Forms (or Colours). To Him belong the Most Beautiful
Names: whatever is in the heavens and on earth, doth
declare His Praises and Glory: and He is the Exalted in
Might, the Wise. (Al Quran 059:024)

The most beautiful names belong to God: so call on him by

them; but shun such men as use profanity in his names: for
what they do, they will soon be requited. (Al Quran
007:180)

Say: "Call upon The God, or call upon Rahman: by

whatever name ye call upon Him, (it is well): for to Him
belong the Most Beautiful Names… (Al Quran 017:110)

"If not Him, ye worship nothing but names which ye have

named, - ye and your fathers, - for which God hath sent
down no authority: the command is for none but God: He
hath commanded that ye worship none but Him: that is the
right religion, but most men understand not... (Al Quran
012:040)

12
God doesn’t exist within the creation physically

Common Hindu Belief:

Most of the Hindus affirm this belief about God that God is within every
living being or non-living thing and the entire God’s creation. And hence they
claim that they worship the part of God that is present within any deity. Hence
they are ready to worship the created things such as the Sun or Surya, moon, trees,
monkeys and all that exists. They have a belief that “everything is God and God is
within everything”. This belief is called ‘Pantheism’ in philosophy.

Let the Geeta speak:

In fact, the Bhagavad-Geeta engineers a completely opposite belief. It states

that in reality neither God is within them (created things) nor are they in Him. But
it is God who has given the created things their qualities and characters. Thus all
the creatures are God’s, with an apostrophe S, and not gods, and God is apart from
all. Bhagavad-Gita describes this reality in the following way.

Arjuna, know that all beings have evolved from this twofold
Prakrti, and that I am the source of the entire creation, and
into Me again it disappears.
There is nothing else besides Me, Arjuna. Like cluster of
yarn-beads formed by knots on a thread, all this is threaded
on Me.
Arjuna, I am the sapidity in water and the light of the Moon
and the Sun; I am the sacred syllable OM in all the Vedas,
the sound in ether, and the manliness in men.
I am the pure odour (the subtle principle of odour) in the
earth and the brilliance in fire; nay I am the life in all beings
and the austerity in men of ascetics
Arjuna, know Me the eternal seed of all beings. I am the
intelligence of the intelligent; the glory of the glorious am I.
Arjuna, of the might I am the might, free from passion and
desire; in beings I am the sexual desire not conflicting with
virtue or scriptural injunctions.
Whatever other entities there are, born of sattava (the
Quality of goodness), and those that are born of Rajas (the
principle activity) and the Tamas (the principle of inertia),
know them all as evolved from Me alone. In reality,
however, neither do I exist in them, nor they in Me.

13
The whole of this creation is deluded by these objects
evolved from the three modes of Prakrti- Sattva, Rajas and
Tamas; that is why the whole world fails to recognize Me,
standing apart from these and imperishable. (Bhagavad-
Gita 7:6-13)

If a person reads the above verses out of context i.e. from 7:6 (Arjuna,
know that all beings….) to 7:12 (…. know them all as evolved from Me alone.),
he indeed is deluded away from the truth. He needs to complete the 12th and the
13th verse. In complete context it can be known that the initial description was
metaphorical and not real, which means that God is the one who has given them
their respective properties/qualities and every detail is within and by His
‘knowledge’ and ‘Power’ respectively. Conclusively, it is evident that in reality
we are not physically and materially ‘a part’ of God but ‘apart’ (without gap
between ‘a’ and ‘part’) from God with complete distinction between us and our
Creator.

The Islam call:

The Almighty God reveals in His final revelation to mankind and states that
He is not within his creation, but is above it. He is over His ‘Arsh’ – the throne.
And one of His attributes mentioned in the Quran is ‘Al-Ali’ (Al Quran 002:255),
which means ‘the most High’.

"He is the irresistible, (watching) from above over His

worshippers; and He is the Wise, acquainted with all
things." (Al Quran 006:018)

He is the irresistible, (watching) from above over His

worshippers, and He sets guardians over you. At length,
when death approaches one of you, Our angels take his soul,
and they never fail in their duty. (Al Quran 006:061)

God is He Who raised the heavens without any pillars that

ye can see; is firmly established on the throne (of authority);
He has subjected the sun and the moon (to his Law)! Each
one runs (its course) for a term appointed. He doth regulate
all affairs, explaining the signs in detail that ye may believe
with certainty in the meeting with your Lord. (Al Quran
013:002)

To suffix, everything is not “God” but “God’s”.

14
Beyond the reach of Mind and Senses

Common Hindu Belief:

It is known worldwide that Hindus have various images for their gods as
described earlier in the topic ‘God and His attributes’. These images are made by
imaging and feeling the descriptions what they understand from their scriptures
about God. However, these images are not constant within an area. Each
individual has his own way and style of depicting these images by adding the
physical features of their tribes or communities. Its features vary from north to the
south and from east to the west within the Indian peninsula along with the physical
features of the locals.

Let the Geeta speak:

Surprisingly, the Bhagavad-Gita criticizes such imagined images and labels

the people who try to imagine the form of God as “Ignorant”. These are the verses
related to this subject.

Not knowing my unsurpassable supreme mature, the

ignorant believes Me, the supreme Sprit beyond the reach
of mind and senses, the embodiment of Truth, Knowledge
and Bliss, to have assumed a finite form through birth (as an
ordinary human being).
Veiled by My Yogamaya (divine potency), I am not
manifest to all. Hence these ignorant folk fail to recognize
Me, the unborn and imperishable Supreme Deity.
Arjuna, I know all beings, past as well as present, nay, even
those that are yet to come, but none knows Me. (Bhagavad-
Gita 7:24-26)

He who contemplates on the all-wise, ageless Being, the

Ruler of all, subtler that the subtle, the universal sustainer,
possessing a Form beyond human conception, refulgent
like the sun and far beyond the darkness of ignorance.

15
O Creator of beings, O Ruler of creatures, God of gods, the
Lord of the Universe, O supreme God (Purusa), You alone
know what You are by Yourself.
Therefore, you alone can describe in full Your divine
glories, whereby You stand pervading all these worlds.
(Bhagavad-Gita 10:15-16)

The Islamic call:

Islam calls people towards abolishing all the representations which man has
given to the Almighty God by imagination as it is against the prestige of God. God
is Unseen and there is nothing like Him. We cannot imagine God and invent
similitude of Him. No vision can grasp Him but in His sight are all. The Almighty
God warns mankind in His final revelation in the following way.

And there is none like unto Him. (Al Quran 112:004)

Invent not similitudes for God: for God knoweth, and ye

know not. (Al Quran 016:074)

(He is) the Creator of the heavens and the earth: He has
made for you pairs from among yourselves, and pairs
among cattle: by this means does He multiply you: there is
nothing whatever like unto Him, and He is the One that
hears and sees (all things). (Al Quran 042:011)

No vision can grasp Him, but His grasp is over all vision:
He is above all comprehension, yet is acquainted with all
things. (Al Quran 006:103)

As for those who fear their Lord unseen, for them is

Forgiveness and a great Reward. (Al Quran 067:012)

Birth less and Deathless:

Common Hindu belief:

Hindus in general believe in the philosophy of ‘Anthropomorphism’ that

God incarnates in the form of a human being and comes down to earth and dwell
with them. This need for God is due to the holiness and purity of God. God
doesn’t know how the pain, sufferings and the trouble which Human beings
undergo on earth are experienced by them. Hence God takes Human form to
understand these situations faced by human beings to understand and feel them.

16
Hindus call these incarnations as ‘Avatar’. They consider Ram as the 7th, Krishna
the 8th and Gautama Buddha as the 9th avatar or incarnation of Vishnu and they are
waiting for ‘the Kalki avatar’ that is to come as the last incarnation.

Let the Geeta speak:

This is however not the teaching of the Vedas nor of any of the most sacred
Hindu scriptures. For God to incarnate, God will have to be ‘born’ in that form.
All the humans whom Hindus believe to be the avatars of God had human parents
and were born in the ‘same manner’ as all human beings are born. Bhagvad Geeta,
the most popular Hindu scripture, clearly contradicts this belief and shows
disregard by falsifying such belief in the following way.

Though birth less and deathless, and the Lord of all

beings, I manifest Myself through My own Yogamaya,
keeping My nature (Prakrti) under control. (Bhagavad-
Gita 4:6)

The whole of this creation is deluded by these objects

evolved from the three modes of Prakrti- Sattva, Rajas and
Tamas; that is why the whole world fails to recognize Me,
standing apart from these and imperishable. (Bhagavad-
Gita 7:13)

Not knowing my unsurpassable and undecaying

supreme mature, the ignorant believes Me, the supreme
Sprit beyond the reach of mind and senses, the
embodiment of Truth, Knowledge and Bliss, to have
assumed a finite form through birth (as an ordinary
human being).
Veiled by My Yogamaya (divine potency), I am not
manifest to all. Hence these ignorant folk fail to recognize
Me, the unborn and imperishable Supreme Deity.
(Bhagavad-Gita 7:24-25)

Thus God manifests Himself to mankind for reminding it His existence. But
His way of manifestation is divine and He being the creator of human beings
knows each and every detail about them as He is the embodiment of Truth and
Knowledge. Thus He doesn’t have to incarnate to understand the experience and
feelings of His creation.

The Islamic call:

17
The Almighty God is not begotten nor will he beget, because begetting is a
lower animal function of sex. When He is not begotten, then where is the question
of being born literally. How can you attribute such a thing to God? There is no
spouse to God nor does God have gender. He is the lone God. The Almighty God
reminds mankind about His greatness in His final revelation thus,

He begetheth not, nor is He begotten; (Al Quran 112:003)

No son did God beget, nor is there any god along with Him:
(if there were many gods), behold, each god would have
taken away what he had created, and some would have
Lorded it over others! Glory to God! (He is free) from the
(sort of) things they attribute to Him! (Al Quran 023:091)

To Him is due the primal origin of the heavens and the

earth: How can He have a son when He hath no consort? He
created all things, and He hath full knowledge of all things.
(Al Quran 006:101)

Name of ‘The God’:

As discussed earlier in ‘God and His attributes’ there are various names of
God, each explaining His attributes in the nearest way possible. There equivalents
in any language represent and attribute to God only unless a different meaning or
representation is used for any one of them. Like the following two names in
Arabic, English and Sanskrit:

Arabic English Sanskrit

Al Khaliq The Creator Brahma

Ar Rabb The Sustainer/Lord Vishnu

These names, “in meaning”, belong to the One God. But if one represents
each of these names with different figures, then it is he who is wrong and not that
there are those many gods.

But…, Muslims prefer to call God by the name ‘Allah’, because we cannot
play mischief with this name. Following is an example of how mischief can be
played with the word God and how the name Allah is safe.

18
Thus the word ‘God’ is contaminated by polytheism; whereas, the name
‘Allah’ is still pure and monotheistic. Allah willing it shall remain pure forever.
Even Bhagavad Geeta supports the name ‘Allah’. Before I quote the verse, let us
understand the meaning of the term Allah. Allah is derived from two Arabic words
‘Al’ and ‘Ilah’. ‘Al’ means ‘The’ and Ilah means ‘God’ (notice the capital G, in
English it specifies ‘true God’ or ‘Real God’). Thus it means ‘The God’. It is a
‘dual compound word’. Now let us analyze the following verse from the Bhagvad
Geeta.

Among the sounds represented by the various letters, I

am ‘A’ (the sound represented by the first letter of the
alphabet) and among compound words I am the dual
compound. (Bhagavad-Gita 10:33)

First letter in all the languages has a letter that represents the sound ‘A’. No
other specific name of God fulfills this other than the name ‘Allah’. The later part
of the verse confirm this, as the word ‘Allah’ is a dual compound word formed by
two words (Al+Ilah=The+God=Allah).

Say: He is Allah, the One and only; (Al Quran 112:001)

The creator is all peace:

One of the names of Allah in Hinduism and Islam is ‘The Peace’.

He who is happy within himself, enjoys within himself the

delight of the soul, and even so is illumined by the inner
light (light of the soul), such a Yogi identified with Brahma
attains Brahma, who is all peace.
The seers whose sins have been wiped out, whose doubts
have been dispelled by knowledge, whose disciplined mind
is firmly established in God and who are actively engaged

19
in the service of all beings, attain Brahma, who is all
peace. (Bhagavad-Gita 5:24-25)

The Islamic call:

Allah is He, than Whom there is no other god;- the

Sovereign, the Holy One, the Source of Peace (and
Perfection), the Guardian of Faith, the Preserver of Safety,
the Exalted in Might, the Irresistible, the Supreme: Glory
to God! (High is He) above the partners they attribute to
Him. (Al Quran 059:023)

Religion of God:

Common Hindu Belief:

Hindus have accepted and called their religion as Hinduism. However,

some learned scholars of Hinduism, like Vivekananda, says that the name given to
the Hindus is a ‘Misnomer’ and he prefers the name ‘Vedantist’ which means ‘the
follower of Vedas’ and hence the religion will be called ‘Vedantism’.

Let the Geeta speak:

In fact, Hinduism is no where mentioned in the Hindu Scriptures. The word

Hinduism came from the word ‘Hindu’ which in turn came from the word ‘Sindh’.
When the Arabs traded India, they called the people living beyond the river Sindh,
which is now river Indus, as Hindus and the land is called Hindu-sthan (the Land
of Hindus), which have been adopted to this day. But doesn’t the Geeta which
speaks so much about God say anything about God’s religion. Let us analyze the
following verse from the Bhagvad Geeta.

Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto

Me. I shall deliver you from all sinful reactions. Do not
fear. (Bhagavad-Gita 18:66)

O Dhanañjaya, keep all abominable activities far distant by

devotional service, and in that consciousness surrender
unto the Lord. Those who want to enjoy the fruits of their
work are misers. (Bhagavad-Gita 2:49)

Therefore, O Arjuna, surrendering all your works unto

Me, with full knowledge of Me, without desires for profit,

20
with no claims to proprietorship, and free from lethargy,
fight. (Bhagavad-Gita 3:30)

One who performs his duty without attachment,

surrendering the results unto the Supreme Lord, is
unaffected by sinful action, as the lotus leaf is untouched
by water. (Bhagavad-Gita 5:10)

This divine energy of Mine, consisting of the three modes

of material nature, is difficult to overcome. But those who
have surrendered unto Me can easily cross beyond it.
(Bhagavad-Gita 7:14)

Those miscreants who are grossly foolish, who are lowest

among mankind, whose knowledge is stolen by illusion,
and who partake of the atheistic nature of demons do not
surrender unto Me. (Bhagavad-Gita 7:15)

The real form of this tree cannot be perceived in this world.

No one can understand where it ends, where it begins, or
where its foundation is. But with determination one must
cut down this strongly rooted tree with the weapon of
detachment. Thereafter, one must seek that place from
which, having gone, one never returns, and there
surrender to that Supreme Personality of Godhead from
whom everything began and from whom everything has
extended since time immemorial. (Bhagavad-Gita 15:3-4)

Those who are free from false prestige, illusion and false
association, who understand the eternal, who are done with
material lust, who are freed from the dualities of happiness
and distress, and who are not bewildered, know how to
surrender unto the Supreme Person attain to that eternal
kingdom. (Bhagavad-Gita 15:5)

O scion of Bharata, surrender unto Him utterly. By His

grace you will attain transcendental peace and the supreme
and eternal abode. (Bhagavad-Gita 18:62)

The true religion as per the Bhagvad Geeta is that of “surrendering one’s
self to the Almighty God” as is understood from all the above verses. If the bolded
parts of the above verses are translated in Arabic, the only word that can be used
for such a religion of surrendering ourselves to God is ‘ISLAM’. The word Islam

21
is derived from two words, ’Silm’ which means to surrender and ‘Salaam’ means
peace. In short, it means the religion of surrendering ourselves to the Almighty
God for acquiring peace / peaceful surrender to God.

The Islamic Call:

Islam says that it is the only religion sent by God, since the time man set
foot on Earth, and the religion was completed with the coming of the Last and
final messenger of God, Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). It
is a common misunderstanding among non-Muslims, that Muslims consider
Prophet Muhammad (May peace and blessings be upon him) to be the founder of
Islam. In fact, Islam was the religion preached by all the other prophets and
messengers before this final messenger from God. Muslims say that God doesn’t
accept any other religion apart from Islam. No other “-ism” or “-ity”. No other
religion, whether it be ‘Hinduism’ or ‘Christianity’ or ‘Judaism’ they have no right
to claim their religion to be the one which God revealed to them, because nowhere
in their scriptures is it mentioned that their religion, revealed to them by God, is
‘Hinduism’/’Christianity’/’Judaism’.

O ye who believe! Enter into Islam whole-heartedly; and

follow not the footsteps of the evil one; for he is to you an
avowed enemy. (Al Quran 059:023)002:208

The Religion before God is Islam (submission to His Will):

Nor did the People of the Book (Jews and Christians)
dissent there from except through envy of each other, after
knowledge had come to them. But if any deny the Signs of
God, God is swift in calling to account. (Al Quran
003:019)

Do they seek for other than the Religion of Allah?-while all

creatures in the heavens and on earth have, willing or
unwilling, Accepted Islam (bowed to His Will), and to Him
shall they all be brought back. (Al Quran 003:083)

If anyone desires a religion other than Islam (submission to

God), never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter
He will be in the ranks of those who have lost (All spiritual
good). (Al Quran 003:085)

… This day have I perfected your religion for you,

completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you
Islam as your religion… (Al Quran 005:003)

22
Say: "Shall I take for my protector any other than God, the
Maker of the heavens and the earth? And He it is that
feedeth but is not fed." Say: "Nay! but I am commanded to
be the first of those who accept Islam (Surrender to God),
and be not thou of the company of those who join gods
with God." (Al Quran 006:014)

Those whom God (in His plan) willeth to guide,- He

openeth their breast to Islam; those whom He willeth to
leave straying,- He maketh their breast close and
constricted, as if they had to climb up to the skies: thus
doth God (heap) the penalty on those who refuse to
believe. (Al Quran 006:125)

Who doth greater wrong than one who invents falsehood

against God, even as he is being invited to Islam? And God
guides not those who do wrong. (Al Quran 061:007)

In fact, there is not another book on the face of the Earth, which is directed
to a particular religion, which says that its religion is the only religion accepted in
the sight of the Almighty God. But majorly, those books not even mention the
name of that religion to which it is ascribed. The term “Hindus” was used only as
a geographical representation for the people living in the Indian subcontinent.
Eventually towards the end of the 18th century, the European merchants and
colonists restricted the term to the followers of the Dharmic religions. One of the
accepted view is that “-ism” was added to the term “Hindu” around 1830 to denote
the culture and religion of the “high-caste” Brahmans in contrast to other religions.
Thus came the term “Hinduism”. Similarly, “Christianity” and “Judaism” are no
where mentioned in their sacred religious scripture, “The Bible”.

Worship:

Common Hindu belief:

Hindus in general do not have specific limitations in their worship. Their

worship changes with the mindset of the people. There are innumerable beliefs
about the ways of worship in the Hindu community. These ideologies can be
basically revolving around the below mentioned philosophies.

1) They worship the figures adopting separate rules relating to each, which are
developed by themselves and are nowhere recommended in their scriptures,

23
assuming that they get divine help resulting in fulfilling the worldly
material desires from them.
2) As they are so impure and sinful they cannot directly worship God
3) They worship the idols/image for concentration but are worshiping the
same God who is only One.
4) Worship through Meditation

The first view, in general, belongs to those Hindus who have no knowledge
about what their religious scriptures, but the knowledge which they possess is only
what they acquire from the elderly at home and hence are dedicated to family
traditions and customs. Second and third view is of those who produce an excuse
in order to follow their family traditions of worshipping other mini Tin gods,
besides the true God, when they contradict the scriptures. And the fourth view is
of those who have knowledge about their scripture and may be ready to follow its
word in practice.

Let the Geeta speak:

In reply to the first view, the Bhagvad geeta says the following

Those whose wisdom had been carried away by various

desires, being prompted by their own nature, worship
other (false) deities adopting rules relating to each.
Whatever celestial form a devotee (craving for some
worldly objects) chooses to worship with reverence, I
stabilize the faith of the particular devotee in that very
form.
Endowed with such faith he worships that particular deity
and obtains through him without doubt his desired
enjoyments as ordained by Myself.
The fruit gained by these people of small
understanding, however is perishable. The worshippers
of gods attain the gods; whereas My devotees, howsoever
they worship Me, eventually come to Me and Me alone.
(Bhagavad-Gita 7:20-23)

The Bhagavad Geeta criticizes those individuals who worship celestial

forms such as the humans, animals, figures, idols, sun, stars etc; instead of
worshipping their creator and Lord alone and says that such people are those
whose intelligence/wisdom is carried away or they are misled and are being
ignorant. In bolder words it means “Gone out of their heads”. They feel that the
materials which they get or their wishes that are getting fulfilled are due to their
worship to these objects other than the true God. In fact, it is God Himself who is

24
supplying them all and fulfilling their wishes out of His mercy and bounty though
these people are unjust to Him. But the gain which these people of ignorant minds
received from God, though they were unjust in not worshiping Him and in not
recognizing the Glory of their Lord, is perishable. It is those individuals who
directly worship God, without associating partners to Him, be the ones who will
be successful in the hereafter.

In reply to the second view, the Bhagvad Geeta says the following

I am equally present in all beings; there is none hateful or

dear to Me (i.e.; is not partial). They, however, who
devoutly worship Me abide in Me; and I too stand revealed
in them.
Even if the vilest sinner worships Me with exclusive
devotion (Not allowing something else; incompatible), he
should be accounted a saint; for he has rightly resolved.
Speedily he becomes virtuous and secures lasting peace.
Know it for certain, Arjuna, that My devotee never falls.
(Bhagavad-Gita 9:29-30)

Contrary to the second common Hindu belief, the Bhagavad Geeta states
that even if the most disgusting sinner committing the most objectionable sin
realizes the glory of God and shows “exclusive” devotion to Him and worships
Him without any partners, then such a person is considered to have rightly
resolved and then such a person though was wicked becomes virtuous and secures
everlasting peace and certainly the worshipers of the one true God will be
successful.

In reply to the third view, the Bhagvad Geeta says the following

The devotees, however, who loving no one else

constantly think of Me, and worship Me in a
disinterested spirit, to those ever united in thought with
Me, I bring full security and personally attend to their
needs.
Those who are vowed to (false) gods go to the (false) gods;
those who are vowed to the manes (The spirits of the dead,

25
regarded as minor supernatural powers in ancient Roman
religion) reach the manes; those who adore the spirits reach
the spirits and those who worship Me alone come to Me
alone. (Bhagavad-Gita 9:22-25)

Those bewildered persons, with vain hopes, futile actions

and fruitless knowledge have embraced a fiendish,
demoniacal and delusive nature.
On the other hand, Arjuna, great souls who have embraced
the divine nature, knowing Me as the prime source of all
lives and the imperishable eternal, worship Me constantly
with none else in mind. (Bhagavad-Gita 9:12-13)

Other dull-witted persons, however, not knowing thus,

worship even as they have heard from others; and even
those who are thus devoted to hearing, are able to cross the
ocean of mundance existence in the shape of death
(meaning ‘annihilation’ or ‘utter destruction’). (Bhagavad-
Gita 13:25)

Fix your mind on Me alone, and establish your intellect

in Me alone, thereafter you will abide solely in Me.
There is no doubt about it.
If you cannot steadily fix the mind on Me, Arjuna, then
seek to attain Me thorough the Yoga of repeated practice.
If you are unequal even to the prusuit of such practice, be
intent to work for Me; you shall attain perfection (in the
shape of My realization) even by performing actions for
My sake. (Bhagavad-Gita 12:8-10)

Arjuna, the wise man who thus realizes Me as the Supreme

Person,-knowing all, he constantly worships Me with his
whole being. (Bhagavad-Gita 15:19)

Amazing!! With enough criticism, Bhagavad Geeta disparages such a belief

and understanding and terms it as something which is demonical, fiendish,
delusive and mistaken.

‘Meditation’, the fourth view:

The fourth type of worship performed by the Hindus is ‘Meditation’. The

term ‘Meditation’ came from the Latin word “meditārī” which means “to reflect
upon”, it also means “plan in the mind (about an object which is not see in front

26
with physical eyes)”. To reflect upon means “To give back” or “To be bent or
thrown back” or “To give something back in response”. Thus Meditation upon
God means, “To reflect upon God, in response to the blessings and mercy which
God bestowed upon us and in response to His commands and Will, without the
image of God being in front of us”.

Some by meditation behold the supreme Spirit in the heart

with the help of their refined and sharp intellect; others
realize it through the discipline of knowledge, and others
again, through the discipline of Action.
Other dull-witted persons, however, not knowing thus,
worship even as they have heard from others; and even
those who are thus devoted to hearing, are able to cross the
ocean of mundance existence in the shape of death.
(Bhagavad-Gita 13:24-25)

Fix your mind on Me, be devoted to Me, worship Me and

make obeisance to Me; thus linking yourself with Me and
entirely depending on Me, you shall come to Me.
(Bhagavad-Gita 9:34)

Hindus have developed a form of meditation called the “Yoga”. It is a

system of exercises practiced as part of this discipline to promote control of the
body and mind. It is more of physical and mental benefit to a person. This is not
done constantly (meaning very often and regularly). It doesn’t contain praising the
Lord, seeking His help and glorifying Him all together. In fact one doesn’t seek
God’s Help on specific issues through Yoga.

But, the meditation mentioned in the Bhagavad Geeta is that which is done
constantly (very often and regular), contains praising and glorifying the greatness
of God with His various names all the time, bowing before God and prostration
(falling on ones face before The Almighty God), enlightening people about God’s
greatness through speeches and external and internal purification.

(Constantly glorifying God with His names, bowing)

Those bewildered persons, with vain hopes, futile actions

and fruitless knowledge have embraced a fiendish,
demoniacal and delusive nature.
On the other hand, Arjuna, great souls who have embraced
the divine nature, knowing Me as the prime source of all

27
lives and the imperishable eternal, worship Me constantly
with none else in mind.
Constantly changing My names and glories and striving
for My realization, and bowing again and again to Me,
those devotees of firm resolve, ever united with me through
meditation, worship Me with single-minded devotion.
(Bhagavad-Gita 9:12-14)

(Prostration)

Therefore, Lord prostating my body at your feet and

bowing low I seek to propitiate You, the ruler of all and
worthy of all praise.. (Bhagavad-Gita 11:44)

(Enlightening one another of God’s greatness)

I am the source of all the creation and everything in the

world moves because of Me; know thus the wise, full of
devotion, constantly worship Me.
With their minds fixed on Me, and their lives
surrendered to Me, enlightening one another about My
greatness and speaking of Me, My devotees ever remain
contented and take delight in Me.
On those ever united through meditation with Me and
worshipping Me with love, I confer that Yoga of wisdom
through which they come to Me. (Bhagavad-Gita 10:8-10)

(Internal and external purity)

He who wants nothing, who is both internally and

externally pure, is clever and impartial and has risen
above all distractions, and who renounces the feeling of
doership in all undertakings – that devotee of Mine is dear
to Me. (Bhagavad-Gita 12:16)

The Islamic call:

O Mankind! Worship your Guardian-Lord, who created

you and those who came before you, that ye may have the
chance to learn righteousness;
Who has made the earth your couch, and the heavens your
canopy; and sent down rain from the heavens; and brought

28
forth therewith Fruits for your sustenance; then set not up
rivals unto God when ye know (the truth). (Al Quran
002:021-022)

God forgiveth not (The sin of) joining other gods with
Him; but He forgiveth whom He pleaseth other sins than
this: one who joins other gods with God, Hath strayed far,
far away (from the right). (Al Quran 004:116)

This is the guidance of God: He giveth that guidance to

whom He pleaseth, of His worshippers. If they were to join
other gods with Him, all that they did would be vain for
them. (Al Quran 006:088)

It is only the Islamic way of life that has taught mankind the perfect prayer
that contains and fulfills all acts of worship, the bowing and prostration in front of
God alone, how to maintain constancy in praying at regular intervals and very
often by establishing prayer during every part of the day and night (5 times in one
day and night), external purity (ablution) and internal purity (“niyath” or
“intention”), glorifying the greatness of God and reminding about God to people
by commanding its followers to use Alhamdulillah (praise be Allah), Inshallah
(God willing), Jazakallah (May Allah reward you) and many such terms very often
during their conversations. Indeed Islam has brought the solution for a perfect life.

On not following the scripture:

The ignorance about The Almighty God spreads in a society if the people
follow their priest and Swamiji’s opinions and rules in contrast to the scriptural
rules and regulations. Or the person follows his/her own will and understanding
instead of the scriptural injunctions. Or the person follows his/her family
traditions, fathers and forefathers. Another major way an ignorant person accepts a
belief is by looking at the way (an arbitrary way) “the majority in a locality”
behaves and believes in contrast to the scriptural rules and regulations.

Let the Geeta speak:

But the Bhagavad Geeta disagrees with such an approach as follows.

Having cast aside the injunctions of the scripture, he who

acts in an arbitrary way according to his own sweet will
neither attains perfection nor the supreme goal nor even
happiness.

29
Therefore, the scripture alone is your guide in determining
what should be done and what should not be done.
Knowing this, you ought to perform only such actions as is
ordained by the scriptures. (Bhagavad Geeta 16:23-24)

The Islamic call:

To thee (O Muhammad) We sent the Scripture in truth,

confirming the scripture that came before it, and guarding
it in safety: so judge between them by what God hath
revealed, and follow not their vain desires, diverging from
the Truth that hath come to thee. To each among you have
we prescribed a law and an open way. If God had so
willed, He would have made you a single people, but (His
plan is) to test you in what He hath given you: so strive as
in a race in all virtues. The goal of you all is to God; it is
He that will show you the truth of the matters in which ye
dispute;
And this (He commands): Judge thou between them by
what God hath revealed, and follow not their vain desires,
but beware of them lest they beguile thee from any of that
(teaching) which God hath sent down to thee. And if they
turn away, be assured that for some of their crime it is
God's purpose to punish them. And truly most men are
rebellious. (Al Quran 005:048-049)

The concluding call

Indeed, the best speech is the book of Allah and the best guidance is the
guidance of (bestowed upon) Prophet Muhammad (May peace and blessings be
upon him).

My dear readers, I tried my level best in the above discussion to project the
truth and reality from which most of us are deluded, as Allah says in His final
revelation “But most of them know not the Truth, and so turn away.”(Al Quran
021:024). I inked these words so as to convey the very message that is the most
important – the invitation towards realizing our Creator. As Allah says in His final
revelation

Invite (all) to the Way of thy Lord with wisdom and

beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are
best and most gracious: for thy Lord knoweth best, who

30
have strayed from His Path, and who receive guidance. (Al
Quran 016:125)

My dear Hindu brothers and sisters, realize your God who created you in
the most perfect form and covered you up with His blessings all around.

What cause have ye why ye should not believe in God?-

and the Apostle invites you to believe in your Lord, and
has indeed taken your Covenant, if ye are men of Faith.
He is the One Who sends to His Servant Manifest Signs,
that He may lead you from the depths of Darkness into the
Light and verily God is to you most kind and Merciful. (Al
Quran 057:008 – 009)

It is He who has provided you with food and shelter and has taken your
care since the time you were in your mother’s womb. It is He who has protected
you when your senses were delicate by providing you sufficient covering in your
mother’s womb. Ask any mother whether she made such preparations for your
perfect development in her womb. When she has not, in fact she has not, then
realize what were you and how the Almighty God created you and gave you an
opportunity to prove yourself to be one of His best slaves. In return you get the
blessing of living in paradise in the hereafter.

How is it that man is so unjust unto God, that He has taken stones and Idols
and animals and graves and sculptures and all possible filth as his God? It is not to
criticize those who take them as their gods, but it is to save them from the danger
towards which they are heading. For Allah says in the glorious Quran

Revile not ye those whom they call upon besides God, lest
they out of spite revile God in their ignorance. Thus have
We made alluring to each people its own doings. In the end
will they return to their Lord, and We shall then tell them
the truth of all that they did. (Al Quran 006:108)

O my dear Hindus, answer to yourself; if it were that, your beloved one,

whom you have shown the utmost care and consideration by supplying all that he
needs, doesn’t realize you and instead brings into picture another person who has
caused him no benefit and gives this third person the status and concentration
which he should have shown to you and moreover compares you with some beast,
what do you say of such a thankless person? Isn’t he most unjust? Don’t you call
such a person “Namak Harami” or “ungrateful wretch” or “disloyal”? In fact you
do. Then what about God and the injustice you show Him?

31
Who is more unjust than one who invents a lie against God
or rejects His Signs? For such, their portion appointed must
reach them from the Book (of decrees): until, when our
messengers (of death) arrive and take their souls, they say:
"Where are the things that ye used to invoke besides God?"
They will reply, "They have left us in the lurch," And they
will bear witness against themselves, that they had rejected
God. (Al Quran 007:037)

O My dear readers, Islam is the only religion which The Almighty God had
been revealing to man through all the generations and the revelation of Islam did
not start with Prophet Muhammad (may peace and blessings be upon him) but it
ended with him. As Quran states

… This day have I perfected your religion for you,

completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you
Islam as your religion… (Al Quran 005:003)

Islam is the same religion which God had been revealing to every
generation and nation. In fact, the Indus valley civilization had been a great
civilization since thousands of years and hence Indian peninsula was a great
nation, when compared to Arabia, with many kingdoms. And no Muslim denies
that a Warner from the Almighty had come even on the Indian soil. Quran clarifies
one’s doubt in the following glorious ayah

Verily We have sent thee in truth, as a bearer of glad

tidings, and as a warner: and there never was a people,
without a warner having lived among them (in the past).
(Al Quran 035:024)

To every people (was sent) an apostle: when their apostle

comes (before them), the matter will be judged between
them with justice, and they will not be wronged. (Al Quran
10:047)

For We assuredly sent amongst every People an apostle,

(with the Command), "Serve God, and eschew Evil": of the
People were some whom God guided, and some on whom
error became inevitably (established). So travel through the
earth, and see what was the end of those who denied (the
Truth). (Al Quran 16:36)

32
From the above discussion I do not mean to say that Bhagavad Geeta is the
book revealed by The Almighty God. I do not know, Allah knows best. Allah
mentions the names of only four of His revealed books in the Glorious Quran (The
Torah, The Zubur, The Injeel and The Quran). But what I can affirm is that
Bhagavad-Geeta itself doesn’t state that it is the Word of God. And Hindu scholars
state that all the scriptures of Hinduism are not in their original form. In fact, It
doesn’t even contain the word “Bhagavad Geeta” in it. From its script it is
understood that Sanjaya narrates this whole episode to Dhrtarashtra as he
witnesses it. Thus it contains the words of Dhrtarashtra and Sanjaya. It majorly
comprises of, Sanjaya’s narrations about the conversation between Krishna and
Arjuna.

Now one may ask, but when the conversation is between Krishna and
Arjuna, then doesn’t it mean that Krishna is claiming to be “I” in Bhagavad Geeta.
The answer to it is that, if it is so, then Bhagavad Geeta is contradicting itself with
all the above discussion mentioned. And remember God never contradicts to
confuse His slaves. In fact, Sanjaya narrates what Krishna tells to Arjuna and he
doesn’t know from where he (Krishna) is telling all this. It may be understood
from the content of the Bhagavad Geeta that it might be a kind of revelation which
Krishna must have been receiving and he narrated the same to Arjuna. By saying
this, neither do I bear witness that Krishna was the messenger from God nor do I
say that he wasn’t. I do not know, Allah knows best.

"It is those who believe and confuse not their beliefs with
wrong - that are (truly) in security, for they are on (right)
guidance." (Al Quran 006:082)

This is what is known about Krishna from Bhagavad Geeta

Of the descendants of Vṛṣṇi I am Krishna (Vāsudeva), and

of the Pāṇḍavas I am Arjuna. Of the sages I am Vyāsa, and
among great thinkers I am Uśanā.
Among all means of suppressing lawlessness I am
punishment, and of those who seek victory I am morality.
Of secret things I am silence, and of the wise I am the
wisdom.
Furthermore, O Arjuna, I am the generating seed of all
existences. There is no being — moving or nonmoving —
that can exist without Me. (Bhagavad Geeta 10:37-39)

Keeping in view the above verses, it is understood that, Krishna is not God
literally. If so, one needs to first decide whether Krishna is God or Arjuna is God.

33
For its actual meaning refer to the topic “God doesn’t exist within the creation
physically”.

History is evident about the fact, that when the Indian peninsula, the
Persians, the Alexandrian Kingdom, the Roman Empire and the rest of the world
were flourishing with civilization, the Arabs were the most barbaric of all the
nations. The tribes would fight for every small thing, such as a goat. And fearing
their barbaric behavior none of the great empires surrounding it all around, ever
thought it fruitful to conquer this harsh, dry (in fertility and communal unity) land.
Hence the Arabs always enjoyed the freedom of their land and committed the
maximum number of social crimes. Arabia being the centre of the world,
Almighty God sent His final messenger in this barbaric nation as a Mercy, Warner
and example to not only the Arabs and the Muslims, but to all the nations of the
world whether it is in the east or in the west, North or to the south and whether it
be the American nation or the Russian nation, the Indian nation or the Australian
nation. The Final messenger is the Warner to all mankind.

And the Unbelievers say: "Why is not a sign sent down to

him from his Lord?" But thou (O Muhammad) art truly a
warner, and to every people a guide. (Al Quran 013:007)

…We have sent thee (O Muhammad) as an apostle to

(instruct) mankind. And enough is God for a witness. (Al
Quran 004:079)

O Mankind! The Apostle hath come to you in truth from

God: believe in him: It is best for you. But if ye reject
Faith, to God belong all things in the heavens and on earth:
And God is All-knowing, All-wise. (Al Quran 004:170)

O mankind! verily there hath come to you a convincing

proof from your Lord: For We have sent unto you a light
(that is) manifest. (Al Quran 004:174)

So warn mankind of the Day when the Wrath will reach

them: then will the wrong-doers say: "Our Lord! respite us
(if only) for a short term: we will answer Thy call, and
follow the apostles!" "What! were ye not wont to swear
aforetime that ye should suffer no decline? (Al Quran
014:044)

Here is a Message for mankind: Let them take warning

therefrom, and let them know that He is (no other than)

34
One God: let men of understanding take heed. (Al Quran
014:052)

O mankind! fear your Lord! for the convulsion of the Hour

(of Judgment) will be a thing terrible! (Al Quran 022:001)

O mankind! do your duty to your Lord, and fear (the

coming of) a Day when no father can avail aught for his
son, nor a son avail aught for his father. Verily, the promise
of God is true: let not then this present life deceive you, nor
let the chief Deceiver deceive you about God. (Al Quran
031:033)

Verily We have revealed the Book to thee in Truth, for

(instructing) mankind. He, then, that receives guidance
benefits his own soul: but he that strays injures his own
soul. Nor art thou set over them to dispose of their affairs.
(Al Quran 039:041)

The message brought by this messenger of God changed all of Arabia,

physically, mentally and spiritually, in the span of just 22 ½ years (610 A.C-632
A.C). Then changed the map of the whole world during the rule of the noble
Prophet of Allah (may peace and blessing be upon him) and the righteous caliphs.
They ruled almost 2/3rd of the then known world. The world was united, by the
advancing God fearing people, from Spain in the North West to Morocco in the
South West, North Africa, Most of the Roman Empire, All of Persian Empire, The
Indus and the Kashmir and till the borders and parts of China by establishing
justice to God. The Righteous Caliphate was no Kingship, but the caliph was
elected by the influential people of the nation and the Law in it is God’s. Such a
ruler, ‘elected by the people’, was the first of its kind in History which is being
adapted to an extent in most of the free nations of the world. Arabs being barbaric
for generations and generations, lasting for centuries, were transformed within the
span of 22 ½ years and in their lands reading and civilization flourished with
tolerance towards all faiths. During the dark ages in Europe, it was the lands where
Islam was “practiced” that were flourishing in its golden ages. Then when
Muslims took easy the teaching of Islam showing no seriousness and when they
broke their unity, becoming weaker in faith, their lands were colonized – A
punishment to them and a trial to the generations coming after them, from the
Almighty God for not being upon what the prophet (may peace and blessings be
upon him) taught.

"If ye turn away, - I (at least) have conveyed the Message

with which I was sent to you. My Lord will make another

35
people to succeed you, and you will not harm Him in the
least. For my Lord hath care and watch over all things." (Al
Quran 011:057)

Behold, ye are those invited to spend (of your substance)

in the Way of God: But among you are some that are
niggardly. But any who are niggardly are so at the expense
of their own souls. But God is free of all wants, and it is ye
that are needy. If ye turn back (from the Path), He will
substitute in your stead another people; then they would
not be like you! (Al Quran 047:038)

O my dear readers accept Islam as it is the only religion which the

Almighty God has sent to mankind since time immemorial, since man step foot of
earth. One of the most common allegations towards Islam is that, “Islam is
intolerant towards other religions”. In fact, Islam is the religion that clearly states -
there is no compulsion or force in religion.

Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out

clear from Error: whoever rejects evil and believes in God
hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never
breaks. And God heareth and knoweth all things. (Al
Quran 002:256)

Another most popular allegation is the concept of Jihad, the struggle in the
path of Allah prescribed in this way of life. Though fighting or taking part in a war
is one of the ways of Jihad, it is not the only way. More over fighting is prescribed
to a much much greater extent in the Hindu scriptures. Bhagavad Geeta is a song
of 18 chapters dedicated to convincing Arjuna to fight his cousins in a bloody
righteous war. Many a times, fighting is essential to establish peace and security.
Why does a country have police and military? Isn’t it a violent way to establishing
peace? In fact, it is practical and well demonstrated that at times war is required to
establish peace and justice, not to ignore that most of the present day, so called
“wars for peace” are unjust and inhumane upon the attacked (oppressed) nations
and the civilians are the major victims.

Considering your specific duty as a kṣatriya, you should

know that there is no better engagement for you than
fighting on religious principles; and so there is no need for
hesitation.
O Pārtha, happy are the kṣatriyas to whom such fighting
opportunities come unsought, opening for them the doors
of the heavenly planets.

36
If, however, you do not perform your religious duty of
fighting, then you will certainly incur sins for neglecting
your duties and thus lose your reputation as a fighter.
(Bhagavad Geeta 002:031-033)

And when Arjuna refused to fight his (transgressing) cousins, Krishna says

Arjuna, how has this infatuation overtaken you at this odd

hour? It is shunned by noble souls; neither will it bring
heaven, nor fame, to you.
Yield not to unmanliness, Arjuna; ill does it become of
you. Shaking off this paltry faint-heartedness stand up, O
scorcher of enemies. (Bhagavad geeta 002:002-003)

Similarly, in the Holy Quran fighting is prescribed to establish justice and peace

Say to the Unbelievers, if (now) they desist (from

Unbelief), their past would be forgiven for them; but if
they persist, the punishment of those before them is already
(a matter of warning for them).
And fight them on until there is no more tumult or
oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in God
altogether and everywhere; but if they cease, verily God
doth see all that they do.
If they refuse, be sure that God is your Protector - the best
to protect and the best to help. (Al Quran 008:038-040)

But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and
slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, an seize them,
beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem
(of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers
and practise regular charity, then open the way for them:
for God is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.
If one amongst the Pagans ask thee for asylum, grant it
to him, so that he may hear the word of God; and then
escort him to where he can be secure. That is because
they are men without knowledge.
How can there be a league, before God and His Apostle,
with the Pagans, except those with whom ye made a treaty
near the sacred Mosque? As long as these stand true to
you, stand ye true to them: for God doth love the
righteous. (Al Quran 009:005-007)

37
In fact in both the books fighting and killing the oppressor is prescribed
only during the stratagem of war. And the Quran states that, if one seeks peace and
asylum, from the condition of war, it is the duty of the believer to escort the seeker
to a place where the seeker can be secure and safe, even if it be to the disbeliever.
Such a law is no where mentioned in any of the “so called peacemaking
countries”. To the max they let the prisoner free and let them go. But Islam
commands its followers to escort them and make sure that they reach their
destination in safety. Thus in the Quran fighting is prescribed only against the
unjust oppressors.

O My dear non-Muslim brothers and sisters accept Islam before you face
your death; for, after death you will have no chance to be saved from the Hell fire,
if you are one of those who disbelieved in the Oneness of God and/or associated
partners to Him (Shirk). And remember how sudden deaths come. Babies die -
infants die, children die – adults die, healthy people die – sick people die, young
ones die – old ones die, ,males die – females die and you never know when will
you die. The Almighty God has given you sufficient time and message to
understand the One Who created you in such a beautiful stature. Moreover He is
ready to forgive your past sins the moment you accept Him.

Say to the Unbelievers, if (now) they desist (from

Unbelief), their past would be forgiven for them; but if
they persist, the punishment of those before them is already
(a matter of warning for them). (Al Quran 008:038)

To conclude, I quote the following Ayath from the Quran

Those who reject our sings are deaf and dumb,- in the
midst of darkness profound: whom God willeth, He leaveth
to wander: whom He willeth, He placeth on the way that is
straight. (Al Quran 006:039)
