Citation 1 a) Dr. Wysocki is a professor at Winona


Dr. Nicholas Wysocki State University. I am currently
enrolled in a class of his called
Multicultural Youth, Children and
Families (EDFD 461). He directly
relates to this project, as he facilitates
and answers all questions.
b) My rationale for using this resource is
because he teaches how to Investigate
Funds of Knowledge at a university
level and he is practiced in the skill of
implementing those strategies in a
classroom setting. He is able to teach
our EDFD class how to become more
aware of a students funds of knowledge
through a conversation.
c) Activities to Investigate Funds of
Knowledge, Use in depth discussion to
enhance students learning, consider and
become familiar with a students
background.

Citation 2 a) Mr. Casselius is a teacher and football

He was able to give me information
about the students and the learning
environment in which I was observing.
b) The reasoning behind choosing Mr.
Casselius as a source to investigate fund
of knowledge is that when I found that I
was having trouble implementing the
strategies, he would have something
planned for me that pulled out students
funds of knowledge.

they can improve their health.

b). I choose this source as Dr. Wysocki is my


current professor and this source instructs
students in my class some ways we can identify
funds of knowledge on the learners we are
studying. This guidance sheet gives us ways we
can seek to finds funds of knowledge for
students such as how to identify physical and
social activities in the students homes. This
guidance sheet gives us ways we can observe
funds of knowledge in the classroom at Winona
Senior High. This guide also gives me things to
look for and take notes on while we are in our
clinical setting. It relates to number 9 on the
activities to investigate sheet. It relates to this
because it gives you things to look for and what
students say to help you finds out some physical
activities the students may be into outside of the
classroom.

c) Dr. Wysocki's guidance sheet also has other


articles that can help and give you suggestions
throughout the ethnography experience. Some
suggestions the guide suggests are
To obtain funds of knowledge you have to
engage in active listening and build rapport
with learners.
Develop a macro analysis for the setting as
this allows you to get a broad sense of the
school setting and diverse learners present.
Look for specific contextual issues, behaviors
and comment from learners you are
investigating.

All of these suggestions help you develop a


good ethnographic analysis by giving you
things to look for when observing in your
clinical setting.
