Ideas for how the The tool can be used at all levels of learning, from PreK-12th grade. It

enables students to develop literary skills, brainstorm new words they
PK-12
know and turn them into a book, etc. They can even customize their work
by associating new words with pictures, or have them in different colors,
etc. Overall, they can customize their work by adding and formatting
pictures, characters, writing, etc. The tool may be complicated for the
younger ones. Most likely they can use it to doodle or to do work thats
appropriate at their cognitive-developmental level. Kindergarteners can
use it to color, maybe have a gist of how technology works, etc.
Positives and Apart from the above positive factors, you can record students progress,
challenges of using
behavioral issues, etc. and not worry about misplacing your notes unlike if
the tool
you were to take notes on a paper. Also, you have the option to either
print your work as a digital eBook or share or publish or delete if you want
to.
The cons include one needs to have internet connection to access it,
students younger than thirteen need parental consent to signup, the
teacher is faced with the challenge to decide if students create own
password then use same email addresses, or different email addresses
and passwords. Finally, if one opts to print their digital eBook, they must
pay.

tool is that it can also be used for business and sports team as well.

teacher could share a document of the ten most missed problems of last
weeks test. High school history teacher might group his students into
small note taking groups that add key terms, events, and dates from
lectures to a collaborative document.
Positives and The sharing and editing features are the biggest collaborative learning
challenges of using
the tool
uses. Allows students to ask each other questions about things they didnt
understand and get answers from their class/group mate, or instructor.
The sharing functions allow instructors to have work turned in paperlessly
[sic] electronically and to monitor students progress on assignments.
Since docs can be accessed anywhere, students can work from anywhere
and do not require lab time to work on assignments in docs
The major challenge in using google docs comes with elementary
students. Students at this age often prefer to write with pencil and paper,
or become easily distracted on the internet. Requiring students to
collaborate over docs on an assignment outside the classroom requires
that all students have internet access at home, something the instructor
must be mindful of in their lesson plans.

Ideas for how the The wiki has a timeline feature, which allows students to quickly and

easily see if any new information or homework has been added to the
wiki.
Students can create their own pages on the wiki, which could be used for
various assignments, and/or an about me introduction page.
It also has a projects feature, so the teacher can assign projects through
the wiki. The projects are also able to be split up into teams for
collaborative work. Also, older students could potentially make their own
wikis which they could use for blogs or other assignments. Reasonably,
you could assign multiple students to a wiki and have students create a
collaborative blog or similar project.
Positives and The timeline and project feature helps to keep students on task.
challenges of using
the tool
Wikispace has a feature that allows the teacher to see how much each
student has contributed to a page. This would be quite useful for checking
how much work and time a student is putting into their assignments,
especially group assignments It can be more fun and interactive than
traditional assignments, due to the potential to include various forms of
media. Wikispaces is available on computers, tablets, and smartphones.

The challenges include It doesn't seem overly complicated, one needs to

be familiar with wikispaces before the school year starts. There is the
inherent risk that students will get caught up in creating pretty pages as
opposed to really concentrating on the point of an assignment. You need
to be mindful that students have internet access and appropriate
hardware, for example, computer, etc.
