Why This Team Doesnt Work

Often having a team is much worse than having no team at all. Eric is trying to create
which has no personal motive but is being created on the directive of the CEO. Eric
should try to come out with clear cut goals for the team like putting a strategy to achieve
the target for next 2 years. There is no evidence of a common commitment which is why
the team may not work .It is very important to exclude Randy from the team if they want
team to function in a better way .An arrangement can be made to exclude Randy and
bring the second top person from the team and he should take guidelines from Randy
and help steer the team towards its goal. The real teams hardly arrive on consensus and
Eric should not seek one in order to work in a team .In order to arrive at a goal Eric
should try to enforce team basics by setting clear and enforceable ground rules to which
the members should agree. The team has to be accountable towards its objectives And
the objectives should be set clearly in order for the team to succeed .The Objectives of
the team rules should be set the Team is still into its norming phase after 3 meeting
there is a need to take team forward towards its storming and performing Phase.
