The Scarlet Macaw: An Animal in Danger
The Scarlet Macaw is a large red, yellow and blue. It is a South American
Parrot. It is native to humid evergreen forests of tropical South American.
The population is estimated between 4000 and 5000 birds. There is
danger that Scarlet Macaw will be extinct in 20 or 25 years. This is
because its hbitat being destroyed and captur for the parror trade.
People who want to help can give money to different organizations that
work to protect the Scarlet Macaw, which is known today as MAE
(Ministry of the Environment).
