Subject : Quality issues of water proofing and
Bathroom backfilling

1). As per the approved methodology of the bathroom filling after the first water proofing
layer is followed by a compacted layer of cement, quarry dust filling and on top 40mm
concrete layer. We have observed in Tower 2, Level 17 unit D, the concrete layer is about to
place without cleaning the below layer. All the accumulated debris from the floor finishes by
other contractor is laid. Please instruct your site staff to follow the approved methodology
and to follow the good practices. This will cause to have a weak layer below the tile and in
future tiles may be needed to remove for the rectifications.
2). Water proofing to be applied after completing the all services and defects on the
surfaces. However, We have observed that finishing contractor has applied the water
proofing on shower area walls without completing the above works. We have commented on
this issue at our inspections but has not rectified. Please advise the site staff to rectify the
issue and avoid these repetitive works in future.
