Accesibility Features of the

ipad mini 2
ioS 9.3.5
Feature 1: Invert Colors
The Invert Colors accessibility feature allows
students who suffer from ocular disabilities.
It reverses the color scheme of all iPad
visual presentation which allows for greater
distinguishability for students who are
color-blind. The reduced brightness also
helps students with eyes that are sensitive
to light for any number of medical reasons.
Feature 2: Voice Search

This function is part of any search bar

within the iPad, and is also
available/present in third party apps such
as YouTube and Google. Voice search
allows students who have difficulty
typing to simply press the microphone
button and speak their inquiries
Feature 3: Assistive Touch

The assistive touch feature is a special tactile launcher that allows for simple touch and
gesture maneuvers to activate various actions on the iPad. This feature works well for
students who have physical disabilities or specialized prosthetics that they may have for
their arms/hands/fingers. Instead of having to shift through multiple menus and move their
appendages excessively, a simple touch is all that is needed for them to navigate.
Feature 4: Left to Right Audio Adjust

This accessibility feature allows students with partial or complete hearing loss in only one
ear to adjust the sound emanating from the iPad in order to compensate
Feature 5: VoiceOver

VoicOver is a feature that when activated,

recites/dicates all written media on the iPad
screen to the user. This feature is useful to
students who may have reading disabilities or
those who are auditory learners
