Online Activity Describe

what the learning activity will be as
the students meet with the teacher
online. What will the students and
the teacher be doing? (This includes
what they are doing with the
technology). The teacher will explain to students the importance of the civil
duties of election participation; following campaigns and being
informed about platforms and choosing/voting for candidates
they support, and that they believe will support them.
The student will be then be presented with the campaign
simulation website where they will be presented with a mock
debate of two fictionalized candidates. Students will choose
pre-generated questions to ask candidates, and the candidates
will answer them. The next task is to choose and evaluate the
candidates answer, based on the students own views and
concerns. The final part of the simulation asks the student to
vote for which candidate they deem worthy based on their
policies and answers. Students should walk away from this
assignment with a greater understanding of how important it
is to both pay attention to the political process, and to actually
cast their votes in support.
